Is obvious than one character with higher Ki could go faster than other with lower Ki, in just a ZOOM moment, enough to send a kick or to dodge, but later come back to a lower speed.
Or 2 characters that only move sound speed, sudenly, one raise more his Ki and launch a blow and win, but both characters when flying just go at sound speed. Will that will explain how characters fly slower that when they fight? opinions |

Yes, i used to think that the speed of the Z zenchi were relate with their flying speed, not anymore. I believe now they can go faster than their speed when they fly when they burst they ki to their maximum for a short moment, and a more ki, the higher speed that ZOOM moment had, i could be wrong but i see it like that now.

Yeah Piccolo states many time in order to fly faster he will need to increase his ki at a high rate. I can't find it inside the manga though. <_<
More Ki equals faster movement. |

![]() were you talking about this part? Well Piccolo is saying here that they can amplify in one tremendous burst Ki, those are the moments were I think they go Zoom and surpass their own standar speed |

The ability to fly is created when Ki is manipulated to push against the surface underneath you, even if you're hovering, you're using/wasting Ki. When a fighter is in a battle, Ki is also used: strength, stamina, speed, etc.
When you elevate, it's simply excess ki that radiates off the fighter, taking the fight "to the sky". So why waste an abundance of Ki when you don't have to? |
