Do you think androids can never die unless killed? (e.x: in the very end of GT, do you think 18 was alive?)
Do you think androids can survive in space? (cell said he had frieza's cells so he could survive in space) But what about 17 and 18? It's stated somewhere that the android's circuits reproduce unlimited amount of ki. So, do you think goku could form up a VERY BIG genki dama (like the one which killed kid buu) in just 5mins with ONLY the energy of 17 and 18?

Dunno. But considering that they're actually cyborgs, I'd say that they probably don't live forever. However 18 could have still been alive at the end of GT. Quote:
I'd have to say yes. Quote:
I was actually just thinking about this. This has been bugging me so I'm glad you brought it up. Since Trunks stated that they have an infinite energy source, it would lead one to think, "yes". While making the spirit bomb for Buu, I'm sure we can all agree that even if 18 gave energy for and hour, it still probably wouldn't have been able of finishing Buu, which explains why 18, if she did give energy continuously, wasn't able to provide Goku with enough.

I believe Toriyama confirmed only Master Roshi, Pan, and Dende are alive at the end of GT. Therefore, 18 can die from age.
17 and 18 are more than 50% machine and have an "infinite energy reactor". To use that as a basis for judging their breathing behavior is broad but it's all we've got. As for spirit bomb, either Toriyama-sensei over-looked it for a good story (or he forgot, AGAIN), or that since 18 cannot exert chi more powerful than herself (see 16's fight with Cell. If he could use blasts stronger than anyone he would have) she cannot aid Goku with the chi required for his level. Continuously, yes. Effectively? No.

breathing: the androids cannot breathe in space as when Piccolo was fighting android 17, he was panting suggesting he cannot breathe in space. As he was grasping for air in space, its a massive plot hole as why pant for air if you can breathe in space, i mean Freiza, Cell, 17, 16 ALL pant for air as there beaten up.

How does panting say that you can't breathe in space? And besides, Vegeta can breathe in space. All Saiyans could all be trained to breathe in space, and they still pant when beaten up.

Burdock, floating above the planet Vegeta confronting Freeza is another part of this.
And I was specifically thinking about the time when Vegeta trained in space. Sure the moon/planet/asteroid could have had a small atmosphere for him to breathe air from, but I find it unlikely. I'm sure he mentioned being able to breathe in space at some point. Or maybe I'm just delusional again... EDIT: *gulp* that may be GT. But the point still stands. I don't remember Burdock having any spacesuit on or anything like that. Can we simply blame Toriyama again? Last edited by Madness; 12-22-2007 at 01:33 AM. |

1. Seeing as how both 17 and 18 were human before becoming Androids, their 'human' side would eventually decay after sometime. As for 16 and the rest of the Android crew, it is possible.
2. Again, due to 17 and 18's human characteristics, they could not survive in outer space. 3. I can't really answer this question. It could, be possible if 17 and 18 were to exert their full power continuously, but it's hard to determine. |

Where did you get this figure?
As for the Burdock matter. Although I disagree with those who are of the opinion that he had flown to some part of the higher atmosphere, or that Planet Vegeta necessarily had a higher atmosphere (due to it being larger than Earth, thus more of a gravitational pull or just due to having more gravitational pull without needing to be larger), to say that they're flat-out wrong would be incorrect. I believe the whole flashback is just that - a flashback. Not seeing the full story, just Freeza's recollection of seeing Burdock. We know that he rebelled against Freeza, that's why Freeza could identify his face so easily, but to say that the entire panel is "how it actually looked". I have my doubts. ![]() As you can see, the whole panel is rather zoomed in on Burdock, he wasn't necessarily that close to Freeza. In a shell, all the images in the panel don't necessarily have to be linked together. They're just in Freeza's memory of that last moments of Vegeta. Last edited by Tyro; 12-22-2007 at 11:34 PM. |

But Tyro, all of them are in space! And he's got wounds; it was very clearly inspired by the movie (or the other way around; I'm not sure. But Toriyama loved it).
And I just realized the androids can breathe in space: Piccolo: "Huff...huff," 17: "We might be even in power, but your running out of steam. My stamina is infinite,". Volume 15. I guess it would help him breath.

About the panel posted above. I'm simply saying I don't see enough evidence that labels more than a rememberance of who Burdock was. |

![]() Plus a few other things that I can't remember where they are. But it's demonstrated through the series, and I think in the Daizenshuu's somewhere as well, that the twins are still mostly organic. Only a very small percentage is machine. |
