...that they made the famous SSJ like it was nothing. I mean, it lost his legendary status so quickly, it's impressive until everyone achieves it, even 8years old can do it, there is no excuse why Goten and Trunks can go SSJ at 7-8 and Goku took time to do it. I know what you're going to say: They needed them SSJ because otherwise, they woulde be useless in the Majin Buu arc. They could have just made them fuse and make SSJ Gotenks too powerful, what I mean is, we don't see SSJ3 Gotenks, SSJ is as strong as SSJ3 and base is as strong as SSJ. At least the super saiyan transformation would have stayed something that only insanely powerful warriors can reach. Anyways, the whole point of this topic is, aren't you disapointend that they totally screwed and downgrade the whole concept of the SSJ?

oh yeah most definetly i mean it so special for anyone to become a ssj
especially when goku first went ssj. after what the androids did to ssj vegeta and trunks and talking about asceneding to the next level it totally demoralize the whole concept of being ssj. When somedody could become a ssj3 or ssj4 it was like if there was another saiyan character that came in and he just became a ssj it would've been like "oh wow who cares"

I wouldn't have a problem with several Super Saiya-jins if it wasn't so easy for them to gain it. Something spanning over more chapters and an explanation as well, but that's not Toriyama's style. I like Dragonball don't get me wrong but like whenever a power-up is needed it just happens without any real explanation as to why.

I agree. That's why I think that the series went down hill right after Gohan achieved SSj2. However, I did think it was a brilliant idea to make the Saiyans question the Super Saiyan limit, however once Goten and Trunks showed up as Super Saiyans who had little trouble achieving the form, then the great "Super Saiyan" became less then "great", it actually became quite rediculous. Toriyama sealed his own fate on that one. He wanted to end it at the Freeza arc, and to me, it embarassingly shows.

On another note, yes, I am a bit dissapointed at the deflated status that the super saiyan transformation has been reduced to, and the ease of which Goten and Trunks achieved it. It's interesting to note that in each Arc, a saiyan has emerged as the most powerful being in the universe (Goku, Gohan, Vegetto.) Also, there was nothing in the manga to suggest that there were other super saiyans in past millenia, or whether they and their successive generations had surpassed the state, as well. I sort of like how the various super saiyans in the Cell and Buu Arcs helped to add to the mystery of legendary ssj's of years past. I guess that in a way, the ascended levels of super saiyan heighten it's legendary status, by making it even more awe-summing.

Well, to be honest, I've always felt like that too. It took Goku so much anger and motive to become ssj and in buu saga even goten who was 6 or 7 became with ease. It was ridiculous. Also I never liked the whole ssj2 idea. Its so damn similar to ssj1 . When Gohan transformed ssj2 against cell, they should have better made him transforming ssj1 for first time plus MUCH ANGER. They shouldn't have made ssj2 and if the buu saga was to be made they should have made a ssj2 looking like the ssj3 we know. And Goten and Trunks should never reach ssj until they fuse to become gotenks ssj1.
