Im wondering what sort of fighting style, did the dragon ball characters adapt.
Is tien's martial art some sort of chinese kungfu of some sort? And, what is Goku's martial arts technique? or is it just regular fighting at super high speeds that make it "flashy" enough, to be considered a "martial art"? |

Goku, at least in the case of dragonball, uses a basic palm-forward/ palm-backward technique, offering no real defensive or offensive advantages, only balance. I'm willing to bet, with no knowledge of Chinese martial arts, that all fighting styles in the show are variations on this technique.

In Early DB, Roshi and the rest are beyond martial arts, the style Yamcha show in the beggining is a kung fu style, so i would said that they are all master of Kung fu, Roshi fought Goku and use the Drunken Master Technique, and Goku invent the Ungry dog and the crazy monkey technique, Goku recognize the Drunken Master Technique as his grand pa technique and he learn from his Grand pa the Rock cissors, paper technique that is also a kung fu move, Krillin came from a Shaolin temple alike so he was expert in Kung fu too, so post that we can asume that they know all kind of kung fu techniques, and from that go beyond, that in DBZ is all over sound speed so we just see fast pace fights.
Wasn't Goku's fighting style stated to be called the Kame style.
After Kame-Sen'nin Ryu, Goku inherited the style learnt from Kami-sama (Namekian-Ryu), and after the Raditz battle in the beginning of DBZ, it was Kaio-ken... or North Kaio's style as shown by his Gi. As for the fighting styles in question, they're all rather fictional. You might as well deem them inane-jutsu or absurd-Ryu. Well, more so in DBZ, as by that point it's more about planetary-destruction wielding power than meticulous fighting styles.

I last heard that the style that Goku learned from Grandpa Gohan was Kung Fu. "Jackie Chun" is obviously inspired from Jackie Chan, the master of the drunken martial art. But realistically, there is no actual style of the characters, it's basic fighting that looks like it has style.
