Cell is specially designed to absorb the two androids and reach a state of Perfect or Complete. That is how it works. He cannot change state by any other means. Now, earlier when Cell was incomplete, he was absorbing humans for a minior power boost. If he were to absorb Vegeta, or any other Saiya-jin for that matter; he'd probably recive a major power boost. Cell couldn't change form any other way than from the androids...sorry.

Cell wouldn't absorb Vegeta, as he is already apart of him. Plus Cell loves to test his powers and Vegeta was a suitable opponent in his second Imperfect Form and Perfect Form, he wouldn't asborb Vegeta, full stop. Cell is a wierd type of Sayian he loves too fight too, i doubt he would asborb his opponents in a proper battle unless he feels he must its his only way to survive but thats just my opinion. Cell didn't try to asborb Piccolo, 16, Vegeta, Trunks or Gohan when they were pounding away at Cell. Cell loves to fight its his desire, to become Perfect, not strong.



But if Cell did asborb Vegeta in his second Imperfetct form i have three thoeries:


1. Cell's body wouldn't be able to handle the power given by asborbing Vegeta, making him transform like he did when asborbing Android 18* into a more suitable body to handle the power boost from Vegeta.


2. He would die, because his body wasn't intended to handle so much power in his second stage, the strain of the two high power levels merged together would be too much for his body to handle. Cell asborbs Vegeta-> "Explosion" -> Cell's dead


3. He would become more powerful than his Perfect Form, saying that when Cell's body asborbed Goku's particles he became stronger than a weakened SSj2 Gohan, and Goku was only MSSj1 and the time. If Cell's second stage "Imperfect Form" asborbed Vegeta, h would be too strong for anyone to stop him like Vegeta says: If you want power Cell you should have gone after a Sayian". Cell

Cell did not absorb Goku's particles. He got a zenkai.

Actually he did, but his boost in power was not from absorbing the particles. In absorbing them he obtained the Shunkan Idou, but his power increase came solely from his Zenkai.

Ohhhh, well you learn something new everyday. He never got the power boost from Goku, but he got his Instant Transmission. Wouldn't Cell have to asborb Goku's energy/ki -> body -> to get the instant transmission ability?

You would think that, but that's not the case. It seems more the case that every cell in Gokuu's body retains some form of genetic memory, and thus each cell "knows" what Gokuu knew. So without actually absorbing any of the miniscule amounts of ki that might be left in Gokuu's cells, he just integrated their memory into his being, thus learning how to perform the Shunkan Idou.
