Forgive me if this is the wrong section to be posting this.If there had been a canon version of ssj4, what do you think it would have looked like? How powerful do you think the ssj4 versions of characters would have been compared to other characters?I know that there is no real way to find this out, but I thought it would have been fun to see different people's opinions.

If I'm not mistaken, the following picture was Akira Toriyama's drawing of a SSj4. But since I can't read Japanese, I have no idea what the signature says.

I do believe that Akira Toriyama designed many of the characters for Dragonball GT including SSJ4 so I think it would probably be the same.

EDIT: i think he meant what you would of liked it to look like.

First of all the person would grow like 5 or 6 inches tall, because they would gain more muscle mass, there tail would still grow back and the hair style would be similar to the SSJ4 form except somewhat longer. The hair color would turn to be different for each person

Gokus would be silver,

Vegetas black,

Gohans gold,

Goten also Golden but the hair style is spiked more,

both Trunks would be purple or what ever color there normal hair is,

Bardock brown and is somewhat short then Gokus,

Raditz same color as his normal hair exept a little bit shorter,

Nappa blue just cause,

Brolly's would be the same as normal exept his body hair is green too.

everyone exept Brolly would also get a Gi the same color as there hair.

That was just his drawing of ssj4 Goku for the GT Box set. What I meant was what you, personally, would have thought that ssj4 looked like if it had been included in the manga, ignoring GT.

I don't know what it'd look like, the one for GT actually looks pretty nice. As for strength, if Goku were to go SSJ4 in the Buu Saga I would put his strength between Gohan Buu and SSJ Vegito, closer to Gohan Buu.

Hmm, since no one's really responding, I guess I'll just post my opinion and then let this thread die.If Goku had become ssj4 in the Buu Saga, I think that he would have been somewhere between Super Buu and Ultimate Gohan's strength. He'd still have yellow hair, but there would be no more hair growth, so it would still be at ssj3 length. Small tufts of golden fur would appear on his chest, arms, legs, and eyebrows, although not to the extent of GT ssj4. A tail would also be present. So yea, that's basically what I would have imagined it to be like.

I always imagined a canon SSj4 to be an SSj3 with finer even longer hair and bigger mass, smaller eyes and maybe even a differently drawn aura.

Or maybe since SSj3 takes so much chi to maintain, it isn't possible to ascend to Super Saiyan 4.

Another thing: Maybe SSJ4 wouldn't be that different at all, maybe Toriyama would go back to his original SSj3 design and just add a tail.

That is often a misconception, Toriyama oversaw the designs, he didn't actually design the characters. Some other guy designed the characters and Toriyama approved them. Which may explain why the shirts on the characters who can turn SSj4 magically disappear when they transform (not including Gogeta). Also Vegeta's finger cut gloves become full fingered gloves, amongst many other odd magical things that happen.

I always imagined super saiyan 4 to have the same chi drain as super saiyan 3; if it had become any greater, it may be pretty hard to even have Goku and co. do anything in the state =/Oh yea, like any other ssj transformation, I imagine ssj4 as having a different aura.

I always thought that if Toriyama had drawn SSj4, it would be with Gold fur instead of the pink and black.

Well, if the hair grew any longer than ssj3, it might look ridiculous...not that ssj3 is an example of sensibility anyway. So, the idea of adding fur could be a way of not adding more hair, and it seemed that Akira Toriyama was going in that direction anyway with his prototype ssj3 sketch having a tail.Sometimes I imagine ssj4 as being an Oozaru-inspired super saiyan form (not in the sense of GT however), and Oozaru as being an inferior ssj transformation that is an evolutionary leftover (like our tailbones or wisdom teeth); lol that's good fanfic material. How powerful do you guys imagine ssj4 Goku (Buu Saga) to be?
