Adding Power.

I've wondered about this for a long time. Especially when trying to understand certain situations like in movie 8. Here's my question:

When one adds their power to another is the consumer's power multiplied or simply added on to?

What happened in movie 8 then? Can you explain that? Or what about movie 4? A beat down Goku and Piccolo put their power together and pwn a Giant Lord Slug. How's it possible? I don't see how unless their power is multiplied.

Well its Toei, it never makes sense. I guess in those situations it could have been multiplied but I believe in most cases it would be added on to. Do you remember talking about the Lord Slug thing before?

Multiplying powers doesn't make sense. If Nappa gave Vegeta his power during the saiyan arc, Vegeta's power would be about 80,000,000. That's pretty ridiculus imo. Plus, it is Toei so....

I think it adds when it comes to the spirit bomb or when everyone gave their powers to goku on movie 8 but when it comes to fusion, the power is multiplied

It was in the versus section about how (Goku + Pikkoro) x 2 = Stronger than a Super Saiya-jin. We were the only ones talking in that thread.

While I'm not advocating the logic in some of the movie or filler situations, Goku was using Kaio-ken on top of their combined powers, meaning he was multiplying both of their powers by what I can only guess to be a factor of 10. That fully justifies how he man-handled Slug.
Movie 8 just proves how weak Broli must be, because most of the fighters were unable to fight, yet their combined Ki somehow beat Broli.

If you think about it, there is no way Goku could've beaten Broly with their combined powers. All the Z fighters had incredibly low powerlevels-it seemed as if Broly was beating Goku easier and easier when he was recieving more energy. Then, out of no where Vegeta decides to give his energy to Goku. And then somehow Goku supercedes Broly....c'mon that makes no sense. I don't see how four very battle damaged Z-fighters can make a difference. Especially when Goku's PL had gone down...adding their power to his at the very most would bring Goku's PL back to normal. And still, Broly would destroy him. It's not that Broly is weak, it's that the makers didn't know how to kill him so they made some cheap ending. [thumbdown]

In Dragonball a 1.33 difference is enough for someone not to budge when being attacked head on.

For Example

Super Saiya-jin Goku: 100

Super Saiya-jin Broli: 135

Legendary Super Saiya-jin Broli: 270

I think adding on makes sense except for Movie 4 and 8, since their energy was from their base forms.

That's my point. Their base forms would simply not cut it. And that's why I previously asked if they had multiplied their powers because any other way would be nonsense.

Normal Logic: No, they would be added on and Broli would win. :P

Toei Logic: Half-dead base saiyans energy makes Goku stronger but still cannot do nothing. Base Bejita's energy somehow boosts Goku from being owned by Broli to killing him with one punch.
