I think this the look and color of the SSj aura, although that page isn't one of full color, and instead uses only grey, white and red. But I'm fairly sure besides those two Kanzenban covers, all SSj auras are white. You'll have to check other sources though.

I've seen a fair amount of images of Super Saiyans from full-color pages of the Kanzenban release and I can tell you that the Aura is always a solid white flame.
The Kanzenban is probably just Toriyama-sensei's concept for what he'd do if he re-wrote the Manga. It's cool, but I don't think it overrides the vast majority of previous artwork.

#$%@!!!
Now I have to change the text in the Super Saiyan article at Wikiepdia. The trasformations at Wikipedia are based on the transformations in the Manga and not the anime because it is more accurate and consistent. I actually knew the fact about the white auras, but just didn't pay attention or register it. I was stupid enough to over-look it when fixing the article. Thanks anyway guys. I seriously benefited from this thread too. :) EDIT: Done!! Hopefully fanboy editors don't change it.

Wikipedia sucks for Dragonball information. Everyone just writes whatever they want and with the general fandom we have, it ends up being a contorted mess of horse$@%#.

I admire your persistence, but my ability to push myself to keep up with things like that died 2 years ago, mostly on this board. To me, it would be more productive and easier to buy a domain and build a wiki from scratch.
The Dragonball fandom is unique in that it isn't just divided one or two ways, but more like 6 or 7. That's why Wikipedia is and always will be hopeless in my mind in regards to Dragonball. I'm a pessimist, so it may not be good to listen to me. That and I can't figure out the code used to edit stuff thar. Egh...

Once every 8 to 14 weeks (there was one chapter per week) Toriyama-sensei would publish a chapter with color in Shonen Jump weekly. In the first release of the Graphic Novels, as well as the English release, these are scaled down to white, black, and gray. They are easy to spot because there is worlds more shading than other chapters. The re-release in 2003, called the "Kanzenban" (Perfect Edition) was printed on larger paper and had the color chapters intact, and were even touched up from before. I think Viz's Shonen Jump Monthly had a few of these color chapter pages included, but I'm not sure how much because I've only really followed the Graphic Novels.

The Manga itself ran in Shonen Jump Weekly from 1984 to 1994, with the Tankoban or "Graphic Novels" being released once 12 chapters were out. So, they waited almost 10 years before publishing the color chapters in Novel format.
