Yes, Dragonball was created as a parody of that tale from the beginning. Goku was meant to look like a monkey from the beginning, but AT decided to only give him a tail. The whole "Search for the Dragonballs"- saga was a parody. After that saga the fans requested for more and AT continued.

Akira toriyama also based it on "The monkey King" and since you know about this would you know where i could get a copy of Journey to the west story? I like Oriental stories. They know their stuff...or seek in Google after it and you will find it. That's for sure. I mean, it's a well known chinese tale. I don't prefer to write Akira Toriyama all the time. It's like writing "be right back" every time instead of "brb" in a conversation... |
