Vegeta got angry at himself for being limited and became a Super Saiya-jin.
Gohan was to imagine the death of Piccolo and Goku at the hands of Freeza, and became a Super Saiya-jin (the other reason is complete filler).
Goku got mad because Freeza killed his best friend and became a Super Saiya-jin.
Mirai Trunks is unknown (his reason in History of Trunks is false).
Trunks and Goten are also unknown.

Vegeta was not kind when he went super saiyan, he only went super saiyan from hate and anger. He just wanted power. Vegeta turned super saiyan so he could be better, goku became super saiyan because that was the only way he could kill Frieza.
