I'm pondering how much stronger I would get if I turned into a GIGANTIC FREAKING APE.

Realistically, I'd be about 1000x stronger.

I don't have that particular volume with me at the moment, but it's just before Goku realizes he killed his surrogate grandfather. Vegeta says something like, "They say that a Saiyan's power increases tenfold in this form!" and then Goku has his flashbacks that lead to his realization.

Viz fudged over it to take a potshot at FUNimation (back in the day before they chained themselves to the censored anime version), altering Vegeta's line to respond to another altered line wherein Goku thought Vegeta killed the elder Gohan. Confusing? Yes? Screwed up? Yes. But also amusing.

So... if anybody has a scan of the Japanese (it'd be in volume 20, somewhere in chapter 233-236 or so), feel free to post it up.

I am completely serious. And, I know they were making fun of FUNimation because they wouldn't have so badly mistranslated all of those lines for any other reason. In the Ocean / FUNi dub of that particular episode, Goku comes to the conclusion that Vegeta killed the elder Son Gohan... and isn't corrected by anyone. So, Viz decides to correct him (even though the "You killed my grandpa!" line was never in the Japanese version in the first place). Though I am normally loath to link to DBZOA, I will make an exception for Chris Psaros and one of his ever-so-useful rants:

people think that becouse in the daizenshu it said goku pl was 10 and oozaru increased it by 10x.
