remember when everyone on namek got transported to earth and gohan got beaten up by vegeta until piccolo stepped in.what wouldve happened if they fought there and then.i reckon piccolo would have won at that time because veteta had just seen piccolos fight with frieza and knew how powerful piccolo was.and when piccolo stepped in to help gohan vegeta never attacked him because he knew he was no match for piccolo

Yes unfortuanally piccalo would of won. But only then Vegeta is stronger than anyone now so it does not matter.
