Hi everyone,
I'm new to the Dragon Balls. My friend brought his collection of Dragon Ball Z, GT and i just finished watching it last night. But i'm a little bit confused about the Majin Buu series and fusion. Can someone please help me understand? 1. Which Buu form is the strongest? (Fat Buu, Evil Buu, Super Buu, Super Buu (Gotenks), Super Buu (Gohan), Kid Buu Buu) I thought Super Buu (Gohan) is the strongest, but in the anime series Kibito Kai said Kid Buu is the most powerful. Another example is when Goku was fighting Kid Buu and claim that Kid Buu is twice stronger, faster and has a greater recovery time than any other Buu forms. Is he right or was that a mistake by FUNimation? 2. In the episode "Vegeta's Respect" Vegeta said that Goku is the best. Does he mean Goku is the best in the universe or just between Goku & Vegeta? 3. Why didn't Akira Toriyama have much to do with Dragon Ball GT? He didn't write any comic book about GT. Why? Please explain 4. Gotenks (SSJ3) versus. Super Buu - Who is stronger? I thought they were both equal, but in the end of the fight Super Buu said he knew Gohan would be coming and was planning to absorbed Gotenks. Would that mean Super Buu could have won against Gotenks (SSJ3) if he wanted to? 5. Is there a reason that Vegetto took more of a Vegeta's personality then Goku's? I know that Vegetto has the confidence and fighting smarts of Goku, along with the cocky attitude and strategical mind of Vegeta; in other words, the perfect fusion. Goku and Vegeta's rivalry somehow made the fusion more compatible, giving them even more power than expected To me Vegetto talks and acts more like Vegeta. Example: The only person that calls Goku "Kakarotto" is Vegeta. Another example is when Vegetto transforms into a SSJ or SSJ2 he called himself "Super Vegetto". The only person that talks like that is Vegeta. Can someone explain why was Vegeta the captain of Vegetto? Is their a logic reason? 6. Which SSJ form did Vegetto transformed to? Is it SSJ2 because of its lighting? Or is it SSJ and the lighting is there because off Vegetto's power or is it just another mistake by FUNimation? |

(Fat Buu, Evil Buu, Super Buu, Super Buu (Gotenks), Super Buu (Gohan), Kid Buu Buu) You are correct in your first conception. Shin Buu (Super Buu) w/ Gohan absorbed is the strongest of all Buus. The Kaioshin (Supreme Kai) stated that Chibi Buu is the most dangerous because of his wild unpredictable nature. 2. In the episode "Vegeta's Respect" Vegeta said that Goku is the best. Does he mean Goku is the best in the universe or just between Goku & Vegeta? I believe that Vegeta was referring to the rivalry between just Goku and himself. 3. Why didin't Akira Toriyama have much to do with Dragon Ball GT? He didn't write any comic book about GT. WHy? Please explain Toriyama didn't want to continue the series past Freeza Saga. I'm not sure why he continued past there but by the Buu Saga he was completely finished with the series. So he let Toei write the series instead. 4. Gotenks (SSJ3) versus. Super Buu - Who is stronger? No, it should mean the exact opposite. Shin Buu only absorbed thoughs that he couldn't beat or if he needed to gain power to beat somone else. 5. Is there a reason that Vegetto took more of a Vegeta's personality then Goku's? Well it's hard to blend characteristics of two completely different people. Toriyama did his best but in the end it seemed that he was more like to Vegeta. 6. Which SSJ form did Vegetto transformed to? Is it SSJ2 because of its lightning? Or is it SSJ and the lightning is there because off Vegetto's power or is it just another mistake by FUNimation? In the manga the lightning only lasted for the initial transformation but his aura then returned to that of a SSJ. So he was a SSJ.

5. Is there a reason that Vegetto took more of a Vegeta's personality then Goku's? Well it's hard to blend characteristics of two completely different people. Toriyama did his best but in the end it seemed that he was more like to Vegeta. I disagree, I think the pesonality was a good mix, not predominatly Vegeta. Although it seems this way from the anime, this is more because the show does a poor job of explaining that Vegetto is simply trying to anger Buu, so that he will be absorbed, thus giving him the chance to save his family. The manga does a better job using phrases like 'Come on, you've only got one option left...'. I wouldn't say his cocky attitude is exactly Vegeta shining through, I'd say it was more clever thinking on Vegetto's part.

Saying that Bejiita's personality was coming to the surface due to Bejitto's inherent cockiness is inaccurate, as it was shown in every canon example of a correctly executed fusion that the resulting being is extremely arrogant, even when neither of the beings that fused to form them were cocky. My strongest case to this point is that of Kaiou-bito, who moments after forming felt that his power was great enough that he could fight alongside Gokuu against Buu (when in reality he was nowhere near strong enough). Considering that neither Kaioushin-sama nor Kibito ever demonstrated such a level of arrogance in themselves, then the only logical recourse would be that it was due to the fusion.

1. Majin Boo II ('Super Buu'), Gohan Prime. This has been discussed upon on many an occasion (with paltry banter every which way, what with people waving their hands helplessly in getting their point across), and proof upon this can be cropped from the Mightiest Majin thread when relapsing into the Debating Forum.
2. Well, the anime cacophonously alters this element, but in the VIZ translation of the original Manga, well, it has balm, as this quote will go to show... (Volume 42 / 26, page 113) Vegeta: "Good Luck, Kakarrot... You Are The Champion!!" 3. Toriyama-sensei didn't want to be linked to the series as a whole anymore, and wanted little involvement (yeah...not much incentive, even with TOEI's gentle smile slicing through him and a deadly voice in an attempt to beguile him) in something he wanted to put to rest way back when in the Freeza Saga Arc nonwithstanding. Though he had some involvement and did design a SSj4 sketch, if that's the root truth your eyes are searching out. 4. I would say about on equal footing, with SSj3 Gotenks possibly slighting him, but not by a great amount. Piccolo points out that he might not want to have conceded to the fact that Gotenks was his equal. 5. Fusion in all its incarnations creates a whole new entity if that's valid input here to mete out. There is no dominant personality because Vegetto or 'Vegerot' (adhering to the VIZ translation) is not rudimentarily a mingling of Vegeta and Goku. Thus, we conclude: Vegeta is not the captain of Vegetto. 6. He was projecting an aura that is that of SSj1; there was only finger-tip sparks of lightning wildly dancing around Vegetto in the initial transformation. He needs to have bolts over his aura breaking out consistently to be accessing SSj2; and his hair style (locks and ridges of hair dancing and reaching up with a more contoured look to it) was no place close to that of a SSj2.

I disagree. I really don't feel Kabito-Kai (or whatever he's calling the manga, I forget) was being cocky when he said what he did to Goku. I believe it was his sudden rush of power that made him think he had a chance at helping. Like how he had no idea how power Goku, Vegeta and Gohan were before he saw what exactly they were capable of. He could never really measure ki, but knew how great Boo was by how he easily killed the other Kaio-shins. Another thing I disagree with is how you said Vegetto was cocky. I don't see him as cocky at all. He had everything planned out from the beginning. He was going to anger Boo into absorbing him, then release everyone. He simply acted cocky to make Shin Boo angry enough to do it. Gotenks's cockiness didn't seem to come from fusion either. Both Goten and Trunks were already cocky themselves. Like how Goten and Trunks wanted to shock Goku with their power, how Trunks thought up the whole plan of saying Gotenks runs out of power after becoming SSj, and how Trunks said Gohan was even with SSj3 Gotenks until corrected by Goten and then saying something along the lines of "ok, maybe a little stonger." I really don't feel cockiness came from fusion at all. |
I`ll just answer to those who I think are wrong or I have a different opinion . 1.Super Buu with Gohan absorbed , followed by Super Buu with Gotenks absorbed and Kid Buu . 2.In the universe 4.Super Buu said that he can`t allow anybody to be stronger than him , and that`s why he wanted to absorb Gotenks and become stronger than Gohan . He didn`t mention that Gotenks himself was stronger than him , which insinuates that he isn`t . Piccolo also , didn`t exactly say that Gotenks is stronger than him but that they are more or less even . Also I doubt Gohan would have let Gotenks fight Super Buu the 2nd time if he was truly weaker . So I think they are about even in power . |
I'd say Gotenks was stronger, and by some margin, he just doesn't fight seriously. An example is towards the end of the fight, Buu blasts Gotenks with a mouth beam, Gotenks is all convered in ash, but unharmed, and angry. Gotenks fires on a similar blast on Buu, who is pushed back (unlike Gotenks) and from that point on, Buu does not land a single hit, whereas Gotenks pummles Buu all over the place. This is proof enough for me that when Gotenks gets serious, he's superior to Buu. Futhermore, there is a genuine look of fear on Buu's face when Gotenks is about to blast him with a his final Kamehameha, just before he powers down. Goku too, certainly thinks the kids have a chance, after he says 'At this rate Gohan wont even get a turn' (DBZ vol. 25 page 141) and look at how well he has read his other opponents, such as Cell, when he knew Gohan has the power to beat him. Buu also does not let anyone stronger than him live, as he absorbs Gotenks, meaning he's now part of him and there is still no one stronger than Buu. I just think the gap between Gohan and Buu is so big, it makes it look like Buu is equal to Gotenks, as he beats him up so easily, when really, Gotenks himself is stronger than Buu.
