I've...considered learning more about game design, because it interests me, but I think about "creating" a lot of things one way or another. Every so often, a thought'll go through my mind of how something should be different, could improve, or that I would like to see, or even just random ideas, so I end up formulating all these things in my head...characters (I have about a year planned forward in the Bleach RPG once it gets off it's feet), film concepts, story ideas, video games....lately I've had the urge to put it somewhere, so I frequently write/type it out, organize inforamation, order and list it...etc. I figured I might as well start sharing it too.
Just...my ideal image of a...solid, entertaining Dragonball fighter, what I would do, and would love to play. I'll describe it with a...Playstation 2 control scheme, as I can picture it best that way. 2D platform, with free flight, large battlefields, and destructive environments. Manga based animation. Controls need to be basic with variety. One button for punch (let's say [ ]..), stringing combos with direction buttons, holding down to add force, etc. One other button for kicks (I'll use /_\..), used in the same way. O for ki blasts, O + another button (prefferably one of the L or R buttons) to execute a ki wave. Tap rapidly to fire in rapid succession, with a limit of blasts fired at a time, charge by holding down. Ki waves cannot fire in rapid succession. Forward O executes a kiai knockback. Best to use after stunning your opponent with a physical combo, as it doesn't execute instantly. Let's say, X for gaurd. You still take a little bit of damage while gaurding, and charged melee attacks work as guard breaks, leaving you temporarily stunned. X and O is for a power guard, which nuetralizes damage completely, and can only be broken by dash gaurd breaks, at as the cost, rapidly consumes your ki gauge. Normal dashes are executed simply by tapping forward twice on the left analog stick. Power up and dash to perform a dragon dash. Perform a charge attack during a dragon dash to break power guards. You can perform pursuits when your opponent is sent through the air, and use...counters in some way I've yet to think about. X and [ ] pressed together performs a grab/throw. For specials, rather than button mashing combos together and slaming the "energy" button as a finisher, I prefer the oldschool arcade style of skillful swift directional combinations, ended with a button or two, to initiate the move. This is what I would see being included for specials. Dragon Dashing into eachother initiates an air rush sequence. Two charged melee guard breaks at the same time result in a ground rush sequence. In max power mode, your rush's become dragon rush's. Requires fast button mashing of the correct buttons on the screen, rather than random chance. Renzouku Kikou Dan is the default rush finish, although other rush finishes can be used. Ougi's are executed through more difficult directional combos in max power mode, your health having lowered a certain amount. Needs the ability to jump and fly too. Online play, language options, and a lot manga-related special features included, and planet busting sequences can actually bust the planet and take it into space (with a time factor for survival, obstacles like asteroids, etc). *works on a complete technique listing* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vegetto Punch (+ directional buttons for combos, hold down to charge) Kick (+ directional buttons for combos, hold down to charge) Gaurd Power Guard (hold down to sustain) Grab/Throw Counter Pursuit Ki Blast (hold down to charge) Ki Wave (hold down to charge) Kiai Taiyoken Shunkan Idou Kaioken (base only) Renzouku Kikou Dan (Rush Finish) Kamehameha (hold down to charge) Gyarikku Hou (hold down to charge) Kienzan (hold down to charge) Big Bang Attack (hold down to charge) Chou Kamehameha (Rush Finish 2) Mastered Super Saiya-jin Atomic Break (Rush Finish 3) Renzouku Kikouha (Ougi 1, Mastered Super Saiya-jin only) Final Flash (Ougi 2, Mastered Super Saiya-jin only) Ki no Tsurugi (Ougi 3, Mastered Super Saiya-jin only) Final Kamehameha (Ougi 4, special unlockable, all forms) Gohan Buu Punch (+ directional buttons for combos, hold down to charge) Kick (+ directional buttons for combos, hold down to charge) Gaurd Power Guard (hold down to sustain) Grab/Throw Counter Pursuit Ki Blast (hold down to charge) Ki Wave (hold down to charge) Kiai Liquify Nobiru Ude Finger Beam Liquify (attack) Renzouku Kikou Dan (Rush Finish) Kamehameha (hold down to charge) --- Henka Beam (Rush Finish 3) Super Ki Ball (Ougi 1) Super Buu Kamikaze Ghost Attack (Ougi 2) Chou Kamehameha (Ougi 3) Gotenks Buu Punch (+ directional buttons for combos, hold down to charge) Kick (+ directional buttons for combos, hold down to charge) Gaurd Power Guard (hold down to sustain) Grab/Throw Counter Pursuit Ki Blast (hold down to charge) Ki Wave (hold down to charge) Kiai Liquify Nobiru Ude Finger Beam Renzouku Kikou Dan (Rush Finish) Koukyuu Gata Kikou Ha Nobiru Ude (Rush Finish 2) Henka Beam (Rush Finish 3) Galactic Dougnuts Volley (Ougi 1) Super Ki Ball (Ougi 2) Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack (Ougi 3) Chou Gohan Punch (+ directional buttons for combos, hold down to charge) Kick (+ directional buttons for combos, hold down to charge) Gaurd Power Guard (hold down to sustain) Grab/Throw Counter Pursuit Ki Blast (hold down to charge) Ki Wave (hold down to charge) Kiai --- --- Renzouku Kikou Dan (Rush Finish) Masenko (hold down to charge) Kamehameha (hold down to charge) Super Ki Wave (Rush Finish 2) Chou Kamehameha (Ougi 1) Burst Rush (Ougi 2)
