Cell question

My question is how can Cell have Freiza's cells when Dr.Gero only recorded Goku's fights on earth.

Dr. Gero's little spy-bug had recorded the fight between Freeza and Trunks. That's why Cell had Freeza's cells.

No. If it had, Gero would have known about the Super Saiya-jinn transformation. But Frieza was a notorious tyrant who could possibly be known to Gero, who thus send robots to extract the Changeling's cells for his creation.

The Cell we all know came from the future, so it somehow attained Freeza's and King Cold's cells when they came ot Earth and Goku used Teleportation to reach Earth.

In the manga, Cell [Vol. 15, Pg. 29-30] is talking about his timeline. In that timeline the robot spy bug took cells from Freeza and King Cold when they came to Earth, but not from Trunks because apparently they already had enough saiyan cells.

though the spying and ivestigating of Goku's strength had finished, the spy-bots still had the side-project of creating the ultimate being. the robot knew about the supersayin but gero never got around to looking at the data and just left it to do as it pleased.

Actually I take back what I said before. I'll quote the manga:
Cell: "Cells from Son Goku... Piccolo... And Vegeta were harvested when the latter came to Earth. We were lucky that Freeza and his father came to Earth so we could take samples from them too."
And along with the text came pictures. Pictures of Freeza being cut in half and King Cold having a bast through him. Meaning the Cells were gathered when they came to Earth and fought Trunks. So, just ignore my statement before.
