What are your top five DB/Z games of all time? Just list them in order. Share a spot if there's two that you absolutely cannot decide between. Mine are as follows.
1. Dragonball Z Earths Special Forces (Online PC game, Half-Life mod) - the game made of win. Everything about this is perfect. Once you start playing, you don't even want to eat or go to the wash room. 2. Dragonball Z Hyper Dimension (Super Nintendo) - the perfect arcade fighter. Simple basica controls, fairly difficult (but not overly) combos and specials, and some really hard, difficult to execute desperation attacks. I've never had so much fun with such a simplistic game in my life. It's all skill. 3. Super Dragonball Z (Playstation 2, Arcade) - the other perfect arcade fighter. Customizable characters, balanced abilities, classic arcade style, street fighter feel (and developers), extremely difficult dragon finishes to master, and great cinematics. This type of 3D fighter could do with an expanded characters roster though, so I'm hoping for an equally balanced sequal. 4. Dragonball Z: Legendary Super Warriors (Gameboy Color) - I played this every day for like....a year...and for some reason, I'm not to upset when I restart it. I get to power up the characters' parameters again according to my current view of that, and it's fun to unlock everything again anyways. Hundreds of techniques in this game, card based, but it's not a card game. It's turn based, on a horizontal 2D field (though there's an birds eye view in the moving field), but you still have to work strategically, put the right techniques in your deck, and punch in lots of combos. Don't worry, there's in-game cut scenes for the actual attack. 5. Dragonball Z Budokai 3 (Playstation 2) - The right way to do a modern 3D non-arcade fighter. Only a couple of the Naruto games can beat 'em in that area. Enough said. I'm hoping Tenkaichi 2 isn't the kind of repetive, simple (I admit, semi-entertaining) stuff we got last time. If it fixes those problems, then it could probably replace number 5. Only if it fixes those problems, mind you.

1. Dragon Ball Z Legends (Playstation) - The first great DBZ game i ever played. By today's standards it's simplistic but i will forever remember and enjoy it's charm it got me by when i first played it. And with it's 3 vs 3 option there was a winner.
2. Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (Playstation 2) - Okay, this one grabbed me, alot. Unlike the first game with it's blatant crapiness, this one worked alot better. More original moves, a nice ammount of difference between characters, A massive roaster, new genious combos and moves and the free roam fighting was enhanced alot better. And 5 vs 5 battles is definetly the best thing about it. 3. Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 (Playsation 2) - Graphically the best looking Dragon Ball Z game ever created so far. A smooth system with a unique way around specials and the way they made DBZ into a tradional fighter worked very well finally in it's 3rd installment. 4. Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors (GBA) - Similar to Legends but with a smaller roaster but a better special system. It was fast, free and it was very fluent in the way both characters could combo at the same time. It's a shame Supersonic Warriors 2 felt like a downgrade. 5. Er,...well i thought everything else sucked.

Jammy, have you played Hyper Dimension? If so what did you think of it? It's a favorite among fans, and personally for good reason. Simplistic, and quite nerve wrecking at first, makes you really angry. But once you're able to trigger ever combo, special, and desperation move, it has got to be one of the greatest arcade fighters of all time.
On another note, has anyone played any versions of Earth's Special Forces? EDIT: Good to hear that Tenkaichi 2/Sparking Neo wasn't a let down. I'll try to check out Legends too, some time.

I played the Rom of Hyper Dimension. Can't say i was impressed with it. It was alright, much better than the Butoden series but still didn't graps me long enough. Though i did like the Devastation moves.
I had Earths Special Forces for a while but i couldn't get used to the control scheme, especially during heated matches online.

Yeah. There's different versions of it that you should try, but once you've gotten it down (which does take a lot of effort, as you probably know) it's the kind of game that can last you forever, just for the fact that there are always new maps and character models (and occassionally new characters) coming out online, and there are all sorts of different people to fight. Moves were....huge in that game. I believe they actually increased in size with your power leve. Yeah, for those unaware, you can raise your PL in that game until you're like...unbelievably strong. I've seen basic ki blast explosions, like....a good bit bigger than Kami's palace (not the actually floating place/lookout....the throne room building thing). It's freaking awesome.

1.Super Dragon Ball Z (PS2/Arcade) - I never get tired of this game. I'm still customizing my Vegeta. It's balanced and feels like Street Fighter. I Think this game is strictly for those who like arcade games, because most people think this game sucks because of the lack of characters.
2.Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 (PS2) - The Best when it comes to graphics. The gameplay is also pretty well rounded, even though cut scenes do get a little annoying. The roster was also impressive. I still play this game from time to time. It's definetely one of the best. 3.Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure (GBA) - This is the perfect DB platform game ever. I played this game twice through. I just might do it again this week. :p 4.Dragon Ball Z Sagas (PS2/Xbox) - I know you're thinking, "this game was garbage", but I'll tell you one thing; It was better then Tenkaichi. I enjoyed this game. I really liked the slow motion effect. The only thing is that after you beat the game, It gets dull. 5.Dragon Ball Z Super Sonic Warriors (GBA) - Very enjoyable. I really liked the made up scenarios and stuff. The fighting system was also enjoyable.

MY LIST:
1..Budokai tenkaichi 2: HUGE improvement from the first. I like the RPG elements of using the item shop and actully walking around in the mini maps. Also I like the fighting better because it has orginal moves for each character. Also 5 on 5 matches is way cool. Also the music rocked andsome of the cut scense rocked esprecily the cut scenes of Goku fighting Vegeta, Turles eating the tree of might and fighting Goku, and the Bardock part while he goes in space. (I dont think he was on namek in any part of his life though, but it doesnt matter. Still an enjoyable game). 2. Budokai Tenkaichi: This game was my favorite game to play last year. It had a lot of unlockables, fussions last forever, and was more like a linear story like Budokai one rather than moving on a map/game board. The fighting arenas were huge . They also had DB characters like Master Roshie and Taio Pai Pai. I also liked the what if scenios and did very well on the True world Tournament. It sumarized the best parts of the three world tournies in Dragon Ball except *Spoliers* With Piccolo wining instead of Goku. 3.Super Sonic warriors: THis is a game I still play. I like the fast paced fighting, the different original what if scenioros for each character. Piccolo fusing with his evil counter part, Evil King Piccolo was genious. I also like the battling system and 3 v.s 3 battles. I also liked the parts where you fight Freea with Cell and Gohan againts Piccolo in the actiall story modes. Also the moves were great and the characters kinda acted like thier DBZ anime counter parts. For Ex: Andriod 18 has unlimited energy like in the actuall show. 4. LOG 2 5. Budokai 1. |

My saying is:
1 - Budokai 3 (fighter, PS2): Really enjoyable and good enough combos with fast paced action and the best up to now, effects in blowing up planets so far. 2 - Shin Botuden (arcade fighter, Sega Saturn):Much like it's SNES counterpart only with more characters and more butons alowing for more combos nd still pretty fast paced. *note: I got this game in Japanese so I don't know if the name is right it's a fighter for SS DBZ themed... 3 - Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (fighter, Playstation 2): Big improvement over the first title the characters now behave somewhat diferently and huge selection of characters. It's the game wich best represents the fast paced batles of DB, DBZ and DBGT universe. It's downfalls are the still repetitive movements (due to th control having only one atack button and the playing view (behind the back) isn't the best for a sturdy combo platform) of characters, the predictable AI and the some what clumsy controls. 4 - DBZ: Legends (Story follower, Playstation, Sega Saturn):First DBZ themed game I played and it was pretty fun at the time. It follows the entire DBZ story arc and has over 40 characters (transformtions count as characters). Now, in this game, the characters really behave all the same as you only have one attack button and you can't do special atacks as you have to fill a bar below so it unleashes a special. THis game fills the honorable number four out of nostalgia... I don't think I ould play much of it now a days as I tasted the forbiden fruit of Budokai 3 and BT2 who throw this game to the shadow... I spent good moments with this game in a non wierd sexual fetish way if you're confused ;) 5 - DBZ: Super Sonic Warriors (fighter, GBA):Well, seing nearly everyone already talked about this game, what else there is to talk right?? The biggest fault this game has in my view is character art. I believe level-3 Goku should be a SSJ3 and that Level - 1, 2 Cell should be Cell prior absortions and level 2 Buu should be Kid Buu. In the rest, as far as GBA DBZ games go, it's the best. Really I think in general terms, they took the max they could take out of a GBA. I still play this game now and then (now more than then as my PS2 comand decided to go kapput...). Well, I'd like to talk about Super DBZ before I go. I believe it's an exelent fighter game better than most in my list. However, in my opinion, it didn't capture the DBZ spirit... The batles lack rythm and is kinda slow paced... well, it's a better fighter than BT2 or Budokai3 but I didn't enjoy it as a DBZ game. All in all, I think Budokai3 packs the best package. Cheers... |

2 - Hyper Dimension (arcade fighter, Sega Saturn):*note: I got this game in Japanese so I don't know if the name is right it's a fighter for SS DBZ themed... [/quote] If it was for the Sega Saturn, it would have to be Ultimate Battle 22 which was also for the Playstation but on the Sega Saturn it is under the name of Shin Butoden. Alongside Legends, Ultimate Battle/Shin Butoden was the only other DBZ game released on the Saturn. Hyper Dimension was only a SNES game and nothing more of it.

1. budokai tenkaichi 2- this game is the best dragonball z game ever created in my opinion. its so fun and addictive, the moves in it are so cool and the arenas are massive. 2.budokai tenkaichi- this game is fun, but it needed abit more things in it (which they fixed up in budokai 5). but its still pretty good. 3. budokai 3- this game is mad ass. the ultimate moves in it are so cool, i love em. its fast as well. 4.buus fury- this game is good as. its long, good gba graphics and its cool that you can fuse in it. 5.supersonic warriors- this game is cool, its like a mini-budokai lol. its fun and has cool graphics.
