Considering all things that are filler, how strong do you think he was in GT during the encounter with Son Goku?

Not enough to matter. Even Cell was no match for even a base Goku, so Frieza was basically just a mosquito in that fight.

The battle does matter to a certain extent. Son Goku's amiable attitude was overshadowed many a time by a look of concern. Frieza's initial Ki-blasts were enough to hit Goku and the combined effort of the two were enough to trap Goku in a Ki-like cage [if you will] and freeze him for a short amount of time.

Yes, Goku was leagues above them but what they inflicted upon him shows a dramatic increase in strength, respective to their Arcs.

My point being, is it enough to defeat #17

I wouldn't go as far as to say anything was "inflicted" upon Goku.

*Cell and Frieza power up to display their new power*
Goku: What is this? We don't see each other for a little while, and you forget how to use your ki?

- If they increased at all, it wasn't much, because Goku thinks they aren't even as impressive as before.

*Frieza "hits" Goku with an energy attack. Smoke clears. No Goku.*
Frieza: W-what?! He dodged it?! *Looks around* W-where are you? Come on out!
Cell: To think that Frieza, at one time feared as the strongest in the universe, should be reduced to this. It astounds me.
Frieza: *spots Goku* I am the one who is astounded! Take a look above your head!
*Cell looks up, Goku is there, arms folded, eyes closed, relaxed*

- That doesn't go under "Freiza hit Goku". Goku was screwing with them with impunity.

*Frieza launches energy disc. Goku simply hops aboard and surfs on the thing*

*Cell launches a Kamehameha powerful enough to destroy himself (Cell)*
*Goku deflects it back at him by doing nothing but spinning a stick*

- Cell's not close to Goku. Not even close to Goku's league, actually. And Goku isn't even fighting, as we find out afterward.

*Goku escapes from the ice*
Goku: But I'm done playing around now!

- Goku wasn't trying when they caught him in the Hells Buster (which is just a technique that transports someone into the lower levels of Hell; it's not a "power" attack).

All in all, they were nothing.

But, for extra analysis....

Base Goku (GT) is generally "accepted" to be equal to Super Saiyan 3 Goku (Buu saga). So we can work from there.

Cell (Cell Games) = Super Saiyan 2 Goku (Theoretical to exist during Cell Games)....roughly.

Which would mean that Super Saiyan 2 (Buu arc) > Cell (Cell Games) by however much you think Goku improved over the 7 years.

And, in turn, Super Saiyan 3 Goku (Buu arc) > Super Saiyan 2 Goku (Buu arc) by whatever you think the Super Saiyan multiplier is.

This would make Goku (GT) > Cell (Cell Games) by (Goku's improvement in 7-year gap x Super Saiyan multiplier).

Cell (GT) would be closer to Goku (GT) than that, but he's still probably only half of Goku's (GT) maximum power (since he was "owned" without Goku ever putting out any effort).

So, here's the formula:

x = Goku's improvement in 7-year gap
y = Super Saiyan multiplier

Cell in GT = xy(Super Saiyan 2 Goku in Cell Games) / 2

Plug your own numbers in for that. I come up with Cell getting about 3x stronger by GT. Which would make Frieza about 3x stronger than he was before he croaked (maybe; he likely wouldn't gain as much as Cell).

That might be stronger than 17; then again, it might not be. Depends how much stronger 17 is than 18, how much stronger 18 is than Super Saiyan Vegeta (Androids saga), how much stronger Super Saiyan Vegeta (Androids saga) is than Super Saiyan Goku (Namek), and how much stronger Super Saiyan Goku (Namek) is than Frieza (Namek).

I appreciate the lengthy response.

It's not like Frieza can increase his strength relatively quick, especially in HELL. I believe he had to start somewhere and maybe Movie 12 fits into that timeline? But then again we never see anything of that sort.

If the diferent of power is that enormous like you said, Goku would nead to dodge Freeza punch and energy disc. The fight would be like Perfect Cell versus Krillin. In which Cell destroy Krillin disc with his neck and he don't nead to dodge Krillin punch and kick.

Goku blocked freezaa punches he did not dodged them.......Goku playes that STATED and when its stated you cant contradict it and that was showed when he surfes his disk

Edit:Maybe he s a bit above that but from what i was abel to see in the fight he wasnt impressive

Android 17 easily, I doubt Freeza was that much stronger I doubt GT Freeza can get the job done.
