The forms are as shown on screen. The greatest thing Broly ever did was beat a weak Super Saiyan Gohan, who Cell could have beaten with ease even before his self-destruct.

Those were early drawings of the Super Saiyan stage, they were inconsistent at first. It was the same with Kid Gohan when he transformed into SSjin2 in the Cell Game. You see, we know the true appearance of Goku's SSjin2 hairstyle for sure, it was shown to be the same hairstyle time and time again. The Movies show that Goku's hairstyle as a transformed Saiyan in the 12th and 13th Movies [as well as GT] is completely identical to that of the anime and manga-based style [having the three strands of hair dangling down his forehead]. That means that Goku was intended as an SSjin2 in those instances, even though they did not choose to include the sparking effects.
