The japanese version interprets Gohan's statement as "He's as bad a monster as ever!". It doesn't really say anything relevant beyond that.

When Gohan said power, he was referring to how "he has powered-up considerably" after he refers to Broly as a monster. I know that exact part, and he didn't use power in reference to Broly.

Another Broly thread. Great just what we needed. SSJ4 Goku and SSJ2 Vegeta win easily. Vegeta would win just by himself.

Vegeta could handle this by himself as Super Saiyan 2 in the Buu Arc, hell... Goku as Super Saiyan 2 in the Buu Arc would toss Broly around. Realistically speaking, Base Kid Goku in GT would toss Broly around. The power gap between Ssj1 to Ssj2 is VASTLY underestimated by Broly fanboys to support their biased claims. Hell, the gap between Ssj3 Goku in Z to Ssj1 Goku in GT is vast enough, imagine how big the Ssj4 gap is?

Nothing canon supports Broly being that powerful. That's like me picking a random character I like and saying they are godly.

Tien was killed and came back, and survived pwnage from major villians and came back, does that make him the power of a Super Saiyan 3?

Better still, Cooler was killed by the sun. And this means he was of Super Saiyan 4 power because I want him to be?

How about Oolong, he never lost a single match in the entire collection of volumes? Holy fuck.

Don't get me wrong, I like Broly, he's a good character. But I like him for what he "actually is", so i'm not going to start making stuff up to big him up. He is the Legendary Super Saiyan and has godly dominance over Super Saiyan 1s. Not Super Saiyan 2s.

The strongest Broly could possibly be is SSj2. I agree that he doesn't reach SSj3-like power, but not that his power is limited to the SSj1 plain. I also agree that the gap between SSj and SSj2 is huge, but I I think Broly closed that gap through the Zenkai he got from nearly dying.

Well that's fair enough I suppose, you've given a highly realistic approach. I personally believe that Broly didn't quite reach a PL as high as, say, Ssj2 Gohan (Cell Games), but he certainly was well on the way to reaching a PL to Ssj2 Gohan (Movie 10) had he continued to persue. Then again, all Saiyans are capable of more, not just Broly. Goku, Vegeta and Gohan are all capable of growing stronger too in the same way as Broly, he doesn't get special treatment.

Anyway Broly's potential is certainly very high; and I believe that, given time, his Lssj form could probably match the power of a full powered maxed out Ssj2 Gohan (Movie 10), Ssj2 Gohan (Cell Games), or a weakened Ssj2 Goku/Vegeta/Majin Vegeta. That's all a "What If" senario though for me. The last time we see Broly, his power would have been around a maxed out Super Saiyan Goku or a weakened Super Saiyan 2 Adult Gohan (Buu Era).
