It was never said and I have the GT collection, I've watched it numerous times in Japanese and Trunks never says anything close to that, ever. If you heard that, and you don't want to be called a liar, then your memory is false. I wish I could find a video, I really do. I wouldn't lie about a cartoon, thats for sure.

Even if Trunks contradicted Goku, so what? Maybe Trunks couldn't sense Rilldo's full power, I mean seriously why would they bring that whole "his energy is greater than Buu's" thing if it wasn't true? I mean think about it they just wasted 2 lines of daiolgue confusing us for no reason at all. The way I see it theres 4 ways that I think could have been the case:

1. Trunks couldn't sense Rilldo's FP like Goku could
2. Trunks did NOT say that.
3. Goku & Trunks were both thinking of different Buu's, maybe Trunks was thinking of Super Buu & Goku was talking about Kid Buu.
4. Trunks did contradict Goku, but come on you really trust Trunks' word over Goku's? I mean if Trunks was wrong and Goku didn't correct him, what was he supposed to say? I mean seriously would he say if they are both looking (Sensing actually) the same opponent and Goku (With more experience and much better abilities & knowledge) was right Trunks saw evidence and he said that he was giving him too much credit, is he just going to say: "You idiot, probe his power again" if Trunks doesn't believe Goku's exact position on Rilldo's power, what does that matter to Goku? Trunks is even shown to be surprised at Rilldo's power (Trunks admits that Rilldo was strong shortly before he landed) so he's gonna watch out for Rilldo if he fights him. So Goku telling inforcing his theory on Rilldo's power won't help them win the battle, so why would Goku bother telling him AGAIN.

I do remember renting the DVD awhile ago and Trunks (In Japanese) told Goku to "focus" rather than be excited.

And even if Trunks contradicted Goku, who has more experience and knowledge in chi and fighting? Trunks or Goku? Seriously, Rildo is stronger than Buu. End of story.

Since Anime character don't think for themselves if Trunks said that it was an intention of DBGT makers to correct Goku. Because if something is stated and isn't prove to be false we must to go by that because Anime characters are just the series creators with disguises.

I don't think anything implies they could be refering to different Buus. In my opinion, if Goku called him Majin Buu he was probably refer to Chibi Buu because he was the last one and the one with who he fought the most, also, he is the original. Even so, I don't think Trunks would have talked if he didn't know what he was talking about. It's GT, Goku is god and I seriously doubt they thought about the fact Goku can sens Ki better than Trunks. I agree with your last post though.
