You honestly believe that Gohan inherited the SSJ gene from his father when the term "SSJ" probably had no meaning way back then?

Broly has muscles. And, as every anime/manga teaches us, the more muscles you have, the weaker you are.
Case in point: muscular strong guys get their asses kicked by scrawnier guys such as Goku.

On topic, I do believe Broly would be pure evil and thus could obtain SSJ... saiyans, by nature, were't a nice race, and Goku(and later Vegeta) were more, anomalies han anything else, based entirely on their later experiences... so having o be a good guy to become a super saiyan doesn't sit right with me.

A non-canon character is not referred to as the king of anything, let alone Saiyans. Surely, "The King of Saiyans" would have at least survived a bit longer.
