Well, just look at the characters ages, abilities, and strength levels, and you can find out where the story -was- when the movie was made. That's about the best there is to get.

Movie 1 in the beginning of Z. Movie 2 is around the fight with Vegeta. Movie 3 is around the fight with the Ginyu Force. Movie 4 is around the fight with Freeza. Movie 5 is around Goku's fight with Freeza. Movie 6 is a clusterfuck. Movie 7 is around the Artificial Human arc. Movie 8 is...

Placing Movies 8 and 10

Movie 9 is a few months to a year after the Cell Game (best fit of all the movies, to add). Movie 11 would be around the fight with Dabura and Fat Boo. Movie 12 would be around the various fights with "Super" Boo. Movie 13 would be after the fight with Chibi Boo.

Fusion Reborn takes place in an alternate dimension where Gohan has defeated Super Buu. It's the only explaination.
