This is Toransku in Movie 9 when he ascends. Throughout the whole movie, Toransku is shown with the same jacket.

In conclusion, it seems he wears two different jackets, (the one in Movie 8 was reduced to shreds) but of the same style. We can only assume he cut the sleeves off in Movie 9 to reduce the pressure. Therefore, keeping the jacket intact...

By the way, I can't see the pics you've provided. Before I reply to your post I would like to see them first please. Perhaps you could post them some other way....

Take a good look at the pics showing him with and without his sleeve-cut jacket, so you can see the muscle definition of when he had his vest on and when he didn't. If you look at the picture on the very top, it shows Trunks' jacket ripping to shreds and his chest is bulging outwards, his arms looked to be pumped up a bit.

Yes, thats what I already abbreviated. SSJ Goku goes through the same thing in his transformation during the Android Saga.

In the anime he does, but not in the manga. They added that effect in there for affect.

Correct. That is my basis for Trunks being a regular SSJ. It makes sense that TOEI would do the exact SAME thing...

Except the fact we know Trunks is capable of reaching a stage in which his body mass increases. We saw that happen, and it's considerable.

Look at trunks ascension when he fought perfect cell and then look at trunks hair when he transformed against Broly. It's the same meaning the fight with Broly was Post-ROSAT

It seems that people are forgetting that the movies don't follow the timeline of the series, which explains why some characters are alive when they shouldn't be, etc (not in this movie). The movies are simply alternate scenarios for the canon series. For example, I think that movie 8 is supposed to be the alternate scenario of if Vegeta killed Cell during their fight.

The Broly battle takes place roughly around the same time as Cell. Also we have to realize that Toriyama was consistently changing his designs for characters in Super Saiyan. Just look at the difference between SSj Mirai Trunks, and Chibi Trunks in the Buu arc. There is a huge difference in design for their hair.
