Return of Cooler Question

I'm confused on the timeline of this movie. I know some movies timelines aren't suppose to be fitting but besides that... If Dende is acting guardian of earth than how come Vegeta and Goku seem so weak? Shouldn't Goku be a MSSJ, Piccolo should be a "Super Namek," Gohan be a SSJ with short hair and Vegeta be an USSJ? Wasn't Dende appointed guardian of earth just before the Cell Games? Or can I just chalk this up with non-canon - plothole filled - filler - nonsense!

But maybe this is in an alternate universe where Dende is appointed Guardian of the Earth way earlier than in the manga/anime. But then where does that leave Kami? Meh. It doesn't make sense.

Yes, it's non-canon. So the material that it presents is usually a ways off from the reality of the true canon Z-universe. In that movie, Dende is shown as Guardian of Earth, but that is not to say Piccolo is assimilated. Gohan wasn't a Super Saiyan, so we know the movie is pre-RoSaT. If Piccolo was assimilated, then he would be far more powerful than both SSj Goku and SSj Vegeta, which he's obviously not in Movie 6. The fact that Dende is even shown would suggest something different of Kami's destiny. In that sense, or in other words, in that reality of Movie 6, it's very possible Kami died of old age. Or, on the other hand, it's even more possible that he appointed Popo to look for his successor as Guardian of Earth before he died. That is what Kami's predecessor had done before him.

EDIT - Also, I must address you, Zer0, for using the episode-production dates for determining levels of power. Frankly, I feel it's inaccurate for such a use. The fact that Dende is shown as Guardian in Movie 6 attests to this. Dende did not achieve such a position until the Cell Game, so rendering levels of power that way, knowing that this person was given this position in Movie 6 before even his time of production started, just doesn't fit right.

None of the movies fit in anywhere with the animes because the movies are in an alternative universe along with DBGT.

Anyone else notice Dende being guardian wouldn't exist for months after the movie came out? Btw was Dende ever stated to be Kami in the Movie?

SSJ Goku and SSJ Vegeta were Pre-Rosat SSJ, Piccolo was fused with Kami, not only because in the movie Dende apear like the Guardian of the Earth, moreover because when Goku recovert his ilness piccolo was just fused.

We've been over this countless times [and tomorrow I'm going to post something up major about this topic]. Piccolo was not assimilated for for this very reason: SSj Goku and SSj Vegeta performed immensely better than Piccolo. Piccolo was having trouble with Meta-Cooler's Cyclopean Guards. They are much weaker than Meta-Cooler. If Piccolo was assimilated, than he would have easily beaten both the Cyclopean Guards and the Meta-Cooler that made short work of him.

Dende is shown as Guardian of Earth, but he wasn't appointed as such until the Cell Arc. And in which case, Goku would be a MSSj there, which he's not. Obviously, this is just a non-canon Toei-mix-up.

If Piccolo were reunited with Kami, he would have been the strongest character in the movie. He wasn't. Therefore, he was not reunited with Kami.

Only if dende wasn't guardian yet, but by the time Dende was Guardian Piccolo and Kami's combined power was dwarfed by ascended and mastered saiyans.
