I can't see this movie being anything other than gash or just plain corny. Maybe in some weird way it will get people interested in DBZ though, which can't be a bad thing...
I haven't really kept track of this, whats the advertising like? Are they attempting to make this mainstream or is it simply aimed at a niché audience?

Regarding the costumes that will be used in the movie, I heard that James Marsters "Lord Piccolo" convinced the director to use costumes that are closer to the real thing. I hope thats true because Goku does not belong in leather. Btw if anyone finds out if thats true plz let me know. Thanks

Ah. There was a time when MFG was super active a few years ago when I was a frequent here. It all when downhill when some knucklehead hacked into an admin account and wreaked absolute havoc; this caused a mass of confusion for hoards of loyal members and eventually led to most leaving in disgust. All that was left were flamers, trolls, a few necroposters and one or two fat guys who were too scared to leave because of their 1337 join dates and/or post counts.

Unable to pay, and after receiving several angry letters threatening with court proceedings, one of the site owners had a nervous breakdown while another went into cardiac arrest. There are a few rumors; some say he was a German librarian, some say he was a member on a rival site, some even think it was a previously banned member looking for revenge. Maybe it was all three. The most disturbing rumor of all though is that he may post still amongst us...

Back on topic; this movie will likely suck. In fact it most probably will. A lot.

The Sankei Shimbun paper has posted the first poster from the Dragonball live-action film that features a main character on Friday. The poster portrays Canadian actor Justin Chatwin (War of the Worlds, The Invisible, Lost television series), who stars as Son Goku, in his familiar orange gi martial arts uniform complete with the kanji for kame ("turtle" for his mentor Master Roshi or Kame Sennin) on the back. Just as in the previous teaser poster, the new poster's Japanese text reads when translated: "The legend comes to life." The new poster also adds the following text: "Opens worldwide at maximum speed on March 13, 2009." Twentieth Century Fox signed director James Wong (Final Destination, X-Files television series, The One) to adapt Akira Toriyama's shonen fighting manga. Viz Media publishes the original manga, while Madman Entertainment distributes the anime version in Australia.
