However, he may think that the balls vanished because of Kami and Piccolo reuniting (and he'd be right). He wouldn't know that Dende showed up and revived the Dragon.

True but even with that, he'll have a long life...He wouldn't need immortality.

So long as his regenerating lump was destroyed, he wouldn't be able to reform his body. So they could theoretically destroy that lump and he would be a threat no longer.

... but he regenerated after being decapitated... sigh.

I'm just saying, with the saiyan and namekian cells in his body, Cell will live for a long time so he wouldn't need Immortality.

The Dragon Balls version of immortality doesn't just expand your lifespan, it makes it so you cannot die. By any means.

I know that, but with Cell's lifespan being aslong as it would be as it is, Cell would grow bored being mortal...Being Immortal would drive him insane. Cell would destroy everything and have nothing left to do.

Your putting too much into to it, you'll never know for sure, as nothing was even stated about what Cell would do after destroying Son Goku and co.

What's that got to do woth anything? Cell's mission was to destroy Goku. When he'd done that who knows what he'd've done. Maybe he'd've settled down to raise Cell Jrs on a little farm.

It was a joke. And no, I don't think we really know what Cell would do. He was programmed to kill Goku; after that, how can we say what he would do?
