I already have a theory on this myself but, like I do now and then, I wish to compare my opinions to the members of MFG.

Why do you think the fused warrior of Gogeta's Ssj4 appearance looks so different to Goku and Vegeta's Ssj4 forms unfused.

How come one version of the form has black hair and red fur, when another version has red hair and brown hair.

Now come on, don't tell me you've never thought about it!

Also if someone replies with "You answered your question in your own question" I won't be happy because saying 'because they are fused' is simply not good enough, HOW come it changes upon fusion... whats the reason?

My theory is that Gogeta's Ssj4 was a Mastered Super Saiyan 4, which differs from the base grade Ssj4.

Similar to how Ssj Gogeta and Gotenks admitted a Mastered Super Saiyan aura.

So perhaps the fusion dance allows Super Saiyans to harness the Mastered version of their Super Saiyan levels.

That explains why Ssj4 Gogeta looks so different to Ssj4 Goku or Vegeta, but also it explains Ssj4 Gogeta's strange looking aura.

Lol judging by the fans reaction to DBGT and the fact that hell of a lot of DBGT runs on plotholes, that probably COULD be considered an explanation.

I'm going with Mastered Super Saiyan 4 because it will give DBGT a percentage of semantics.

I don't even think that Toei could give us a reasonable answer for that. "Facts" about the strange characteristics of SSj4 Gogeta would be coming from a company that can neither comprehend or accept the fact that Goku was not the strongest character at the end of DBZ, or that there is such a form called Super Saiyan 2.

Or we could say that Gogeta wanted to be different from Goku and Vegeta so in that blinding second after he was fused, he used the Shunkan Ido to go to the store and steal some red hair dye. He died his hair red and returned before Shenlong cold see him through the blinding flash. ANYTHING is possible in Toei's Dragon Ball! Come on, according to them, Garlic Jr went from a PL of under 2,000 to over one million in about a year and a half.

I'm totally not a fan of in-universe explanations for things like this...

My opinion is that they designed Ssj4 Gogeta to originally follow the rules of the form, then realized it didn't look that good, and changed up the colors to make him more awesome looking.

They succeeded, only to make him an idiot for no good reason at all.

Well, Goku and Vegeta look different to eachother in SSJ4 anyway. My conclusion would be that the form's appearance changed for each Saiyan.

I understand that alot of DBGT is confusing and does not make sense, but TOEI wouldn't have done things without 'some' form of meaning... even if it was a lame meaning. Which is why I don't accept '...because DBGT was rubbish' as a real reason either. That's pretty much another way of saying 'I can't be bothered to think about it because I don't like the series'

I often wondered that myself, but then that would make Base Gogeta's hair red... and technically pure blooded Saiyan's (Which Gogeta is technically) have only dark brown or black hair. Plus it doesn't explain the strangeness in the aura.

The stuff with the aura is supposed to imprint on how insanely powerful he is. Nothing more. I've heard all sorts of theories. SSJ4.5, SSJ5, Mystic SSJ4. They're all pretty rubbish and over-complicate the obvious.

Gogeta was very powerful - they wanted to show this.

The hair colour thing is stupid. They wanted him to look different - they did lazily.
