I think Broly is kickbutt, not the best saiyin, but my favorite.

I find it humorous that the user "Broly" is actually one of the most level headed and respectable members around these parts.

This thread isn't about hate, though. Just about how overrated the character is and how annoying it gets.

I don't "hate" Broli. That's way too much emotion to direct at a fictional character.

tl;dr

I don't personally hate Broli, but it's not like I care for him as a character, either. After all, he has the worst "I'm seeking revenge because..." background in the history of how hard it is to phail hard.

What really gets under my skin are the (bad) fans of Broli.

I like the idea of Broli's character: the Legendary Super Saiyan, with a thirst for revenge whose heart is consumed with rage.

But his exectution is terrible. Broli's movies have large amounts of phail.

I don't hate Broly but he does piss me off because his fanboys think he's god. On some french forums, I have match ups of Broly vs Yi Xing Long(Omega Shenron) or Broly vs SSJ4 Gogeta. Even if I explain in depth Broly isn't nowhere near Post Zenkai Cell, they still say we never saw his full power and thus, I can't know how strong he is and they keep believing he would stand a chance against SSJ4 Gogeta. I mean, seriously, these guys are noobs, not noobs you can convince, really noobs that will just turn a blind eye and have reading skills of a 4 years old.

Broly pisses me off, so does Chibi Buu now since everyone seems to think he's the ultimate DBZ ennemy. I did believe he was, but at least I accepted he wasn't and moved forward but these guys keep arguing with facts such as: He's the last one so he's the strongest. Really, sometimes I'm tempted to insult them but I keep my cool since I'm respectful and I wouldn't lose my calm for that.

Well, non-canon character match-ups don't interest me anyway. Actually, non-canon stuff doesn't interest me at all. Most of the non-canon stuff is so out of whack from the original story, that the only amusment that I find in it is seeing how incredibly out of whack it is. The later movies are actually the worst in my opinion. For the side characters, there is little fighting in there, as opposed to the earlier movies, where there is a lot more raw combat. In the first three movies, there is a lot of physical combat between characters. All movies after the first three were just focused on power and transformations, not so much combat anymore. In the later movies, most of the characters (besides Goku) are out of commission with a single hit from the villian twice as strong as them, while in the series, they can go episodes on end with a villian five times as strong as them.

The thing with Chibi Buu actually doesn't piss me off becuase FUNImation is the one who should be the one blamed for its f*cked up dub. They add stuff that shouldn't be there, or leave stuff out that should be there, which results in mis-informed fanboys that have never read a DB manga or watched the original Japanese anime.

To be fair the 1st Broly Movie was enjoyable and a good concept compared to the 2nd and 3rd Movies where I cannot begin to criticise it.

Probably because they have 'Majin Buu' arc characters such as Goten and Chibi Trunks with no highlights from Krillin, Mirai Trunks, Tien and Yamcha which I found displeasing. Then again, the 1st Broly movie didn't have most of these human characters playing a huge part either excluding Mirai Trunks who was only half human.

-People who like Freiza or are defending him in an versu discussion should know Freiza won't stand a chance against anyone with higher power level of a Super Saiyan Mirai Trunks.

-Its really not that hard; to apply some human logic to any if all discussions and it will go along way.

Yeah I mean your favorite characters aren't always the most powerful

For instance, i'm a huge Tien fan... but I know that he wouldn't do much good past Imcomplete Cell level (or however more powerful he was in GT). I accept that, although he was a strong human, he was in a low league of power in the grand scheme of things.

Frieza is one of the BEST villians in almost any fiction or media ever, but compared to some later villians like Buu and Baby, Frieza would get owned so much in terms of power that even his grandchildren would need lawyers.

Haha, you mean like the part in the Japanese version (Anime) where Goku says Chibi Boo is the Mightiest Majin?

I found the first movie to be mildly boring, but I didn't hate Broly. I thought he was also rather boring, but I always do for super-uber-characters who can never die.

The fact he was defeated by what I like to call the "Fist of Doom" was pretty lame, and such makes him so too.
