What do you mean why? He got a hole punched through his chest in Movie 8, right? So upon recovering he will get a Zenkai. Or are you saying that the wound he received was insufficient to push him so far? But what do the Zet Senshi being around their Cell Game selves have to do with it?

By "why", I mean "why do you think he got a zenkai?". Nobody else gets zenkais.

And what would make you think he got one in the first place? If you think the heores had Cell Games power levels in Movie 8, then Broly's fighting weaker people in Movie 10. So why's he got to have a zenkai to do that?

He doesn't have to have a Zenkai to do anything. I just think he received one because of his fatal wound and eventual healing. I personally see Gohan as a SSj2 in Movie 10, okay. I'm sure you know why I think this. A few quick reasons: The back of his hair is spiked in Movie 10. When he fights Dabra, it isn't. [and this is noticable] The lack of electricity and sparks around him were caused by what I believe to be a mistake on account of Movie 12 and 13. I don't know if you ever noticed, but it at least seems to me that they have a new set of animators for movies 10-13.

I think Broly received a zenkai, as well as Goku in Movie 5.

But the thing is, Broly has his own non-canon story to go by. Even if Goku did receive a type of Zenkai from his battle with Cooler in Movie 5, it's nowhere near as magnitudinous as Broly's. We know that Saiyans grow stronger from battle each and every time they fight, whether they get a Zenkai or not. Plus, at the time, Broly seemed to be on a plane of power which was the launching point for SSj2-like power. In other words, his time was ready for such Saiyan evolution, I believe. Just like Gohan, Goku and Vegeta, and Cell, who were all around the same planar were ready, though each achieved that type of power in different ways. [rage, intense training, zenkai]

I don't see how you could say Dabra was close to SSj2 power. There's nothing stating he matches such power. No hints or inference. So why are you drawing to such a conclusion? Or am I missing something?
