Broli threads piss me off

I understand that it's hard for people to accept his character because it's so different than anything we've seen before in the DB universe. Now, I agree that his fighting style is unorthodox, but consider his physique. He kinda has to move like that because of his mass. Anyway, I just like him for what he is. He seemed real cool to me because he never acted the same way as the other villains in that he had pride issues. He was also cool because he was insane...and you could see his insanity develop from Movie 8 to Movie 10, and it had overtaken his way of thinking. He also appealed to me because he was the only Saiyan villain to surpass the Super Saiyan. But yeah, I do understand your disappointment despite my liking him.

I don't hate Broly, I just think he's highly overrated. First off IMO he does not deserve 3 movies. Movie 8 alone was sufficient (asside from the horrible ending). Also many people make him way stronger than he really is. I recall encountering a SSJ3 Goku vs Brol thread one time... I found that quite bizarre seeing as if majin Vegeta would make Broly look like a fool (with minimal effort) SSJ3 Goku fighting him would parallel something similar to SSJ3 Goku taking on Gohan Boo.

Insane is cool. I love insane! Chibi Buu was insane, and he rocked!

Broly was insane in a not so cool way.

Now come on, you're telling me he didn't remind you of the Hulk?

I think the immediate reaction to a character like Broly is to become fixed with his size, strength, and insane rage. At first, I was a Broly fan because noone else really compared to him, (Besides Bojack, or Hatchyack) in terms of brute force. But, over time I began to become sort of "downplayed" with his role in dbz as a whole. Yes, I think he is a total badass, but to overestimate his strength as a whole is almost idiotic. Seeing this from a different perspective, people become almost "Obsessed" with him because he is so different from what were used to in the dragon ball world...

And why you love 17 and 18?? they are minor characters. (like ginyu force in Freeza saga). Broly is more important than yours Androids.

I like wild flailing arms that bash Zet Senshi fighters into buildings. It creates a good show...and deals out proper pwnage.

I thought it was just because Goten looked like Goku. I mean, why would he think it's Goku if he's already seen Goku fully grown. If anything, he may've thought it was Goku's son. After all, he did seem like he hated Gohan too in Movie 8, once he learned it was Goku's son, I guess.

no but if you think about the psychology of broly too maybe it was because goten looked like goku or just maybe he knew it wasnt goku but sinced goten looked like goku and was weaker maybe he just wanted to take out his rage on someone that looked like his enemy.

And when LSSJ7 was refering to the "wasted potential", he meant the character. He could've been so much more than the "Japanese Hulk" that he was. Hell, the LSSJ could have been so much more! He's not refering to Broly's power. He's refering to the let down of this "Legendary" SSJ.

And I LOVE Janemba. But I'm able to see his weaknesses. You however, cannot see Broly's.

I don't even see him like the Hulk. Anyone who does should still be able to see past that. I listed alot of those things in the "Favorite Villain" thread. All I can think of to make his character better is that he could've been smarter, but at least hes not the dumbest. Hes only insane from his mental instability and because his power isn't meant to be controlled. The only letdown was how they portrayed him to be the apocalypse but then made it seem like he wasn't worth the title in the end. I think they could've done better in showing his value but overall, he was a great villain and one of the sickest characters in the series. His deep legacy and the way he uses his unique attributes combined with his instinctive rage is what gives him the credibility he deserves.
