Akira Toriyama was planning to make DBGT as a story where Gohan becomes the strongest in the universe. However, he let someone else make the DBGT we know today. What else do you think Akira Toriyama might have done differently?

Actually no, Toriyama-sensei had no desire to create another Dragonball story after he concluded with Z. Since he didn't want to write another story, Toei Animation (the company that held the rights to creating Dragonball related anime) decided to create their own. Toriyama-sensei did help with a few character and spaceship designs (as he had done for the movies) but in terms of actual storyline work, he wasn't a part of it of his own accord.

You didn't listen very well.He didn't create the GT we know now, but something else. After his time was almost up to create the story, or he just gave up, Toei made this other GT, not using the original plan that Akira Toriyama had.

I've heard that he did make Gohan the strongest, because he wanted Gohan to kill Buu, but the fanbase wanted Goku to do it. I have no evidence though.
As for the topic, no, GT was made by Toei completely. Toriyama was sick to death of Dragon Ball after finishing Z, and I don't think anything could've tempted him back to creating it full-time again. Lets see this evidence.

And also, Toriyama didn't want to continue past the Frieza Saga, but then continued and finished with the Buu Saga; and that's it. |

Indeed you are correct sir! He was paid to continue into the Cell and Buu Saga, and that's why the story gets increasingly lacklustre. He wasn't doing it for passion anymore.

This could all be true...I already knew for a while that he wanted it to end at the Freeza saga, and what I heard is that Akira Toriyama was paid to continue, and once he was finished with the Buu saga(or perhaps almost finished)He was planning on making Gohan strongest, either in GT or at the end of Z, but he let Toei continue on their own for GT after he planned to end DBZ without Gohan's story and do GT on his own, being exhausted of then series and not wanting to make GT, hoping that Toei would stick to the basic plot or at least take a hint thaty everyone loves Gohan...Which sadly never happened. However I am still very satisfied with the current GT.I'm still looking for the link, but I can't remember where I heard it from.
