Vegeto was SSJ when he was facing Buu not SSJ2. We simply know that, Vegeto outclasses Gogeta no matter which way you look at it. It was stated that he was superior and somewhat stated that he was more powerful. If SSJ4 Gogeta was that strong, I don't even dare to imagine what would happened to Yi Xing Long(Omega Shenron) if he were to face SSJ4 Vegeto. The fun would be over, we would cry because of the rapefest Vegeto would deliver.

Well, being a Gogeta fanboy ill try to be fair with my answer. I think Vegito SSJ4 would be a bit stronger than gogeta which is VERY strong. Imagine SSj4 Gogeta, now imagine that he would exist forever (would stay fused) and would be stronger than ssj4 gogeta. Well it's beyond any imagination. I really don't think anyone could ever beat ssj4 vegito.

HAHAHAHA if SSj4 Vegito was fusioned from a SSj4 Goku and Vegeta, they would die within a few hours maybe longer, but anyhow it was stated if they fusioned together with potra they would die thanks to the strain of SSj1 so imagine SSj4, of course they would smash Omega Shenron (Yi Xing Long), but they would also die.

SSJ4 wasn't shown to give you that much strain, not compared to SSJ3 anyway. If they went SSJ3 they would die very quickly.

The strain was removed and put on the time limit thats why SSj3 Gotenks lasted 10-15 minutes, and thats why SSj4 Gogeta lasted for ten minutes, because of the strain, and again signs of strain, SSj4 Goku and Vegeta couldn't re-fusion after the were split apart thanks to the 'chomp' it had taken from there energy, if the were to do this constantly (SSj4 Vegito) imagine the strain.

Few hours? No, I think SSJ3 puts your body in a bigger strain. Goku has stayed for a very long time SSJ4, while I don't remember Goku staying more than a few minutes transformed in SSJ3. Remember when he fought with Nova Shenron and Omega Shenron? He stayed SSJ4 for a long time and then he went kid in the end. I know it sounds logical that SSJ3 strain <<< SSJ4 strain but it's not like that because ssj4 is more like a super ozarru.
I doubt Vegito would live just a few hours. Maybe a month but few hours...

Vegerot wouldn't live long, Gogeta would...but his fusion ends in 3 minutes less than it's supposed to. I think from this we can infer the strain would be unbearable. Old Kai warned Goku about SSJ while using patora.
