Tail Regeneration

hi im just wondering something....Why does Goku's tail grow back numerous times in dragonball, but gohans only grows back once and vegeta's never? Gohan got it pulled of by Piccolo during his time training with him in the very beginning of dbz, and then it grew back/got cut off again in the battle with Vegeta. Vegeta's was cut off by Yajirobi in the saiyan saga but never grew back, why? Is there some factor that makes it grow back? And plus another slightly off topic question: when Kami (i think it was Kami) permanently removes Goku's tail in the anime, does Goku get weaker? Wouldn't it have just been better off leaving it there?

Maybe because Gohan is only 1/2 Saiyan. For Vegeta, maybe it's because Saiyan can only grow their tail back if they're only a kid.

No, Vegeta specifically says it will grow back. Most say its because the saiyan has gotten stronger and the body simply doesn't regrow one. I mainlly agree with this. But its not a fact because I have never read the interview by Toriyama on this issue

As far as I know, the first time Puar cuts Goku's tail off, the second, Gohan-Sama rips Goku's tail off. Then... its gone till GT isnt it? I dont remember Kami removed it but I may be wrong.

Kami did remove Goku's tail so it wouldn't grow back. Kami did it to restore the moon, which creates a plot hole in GT when Goku has his tail starting to grow back.

Maybe Vegeta has to train as hard as Goku to make his tail grow back.

Training is what stopped Vegeta's tail from growing according to those who have read an interview with Toriyama discussing the tail. Goku's tail should never grow back Kami removed it permantly so he could recreate the moon.

Oh please, Kami didn't recreate the moon. He probably gather the dragonballs & wish for Shenlong to recreate the moon over that 3 year period.

it was stated in the dragonball manga that the tail makes the sayain stronger..

i remember when kid goku in dragonball got his tail back he said he feels stronger..i think when goku was fighting that big bird in the budokai..

to answer your questions.. as teen goten says.. it seems like only a kid sayian that his/her tail grows back.

to answer the second question... a sayain with a tail gets a huge power boost..

in GT kid goku without a tail couldn't keep the ssj3 form..but when he got his tail back he was able to control the ssj3 form perfectly..

so sometimes the sayian tail doesn't really give you a huge power boost but it does make the sayian control his power alot better if he still has his tail.

The tail doesn't give a huge boost, if a boost at all. The tail seemed only to let Goku control his power.

Kami was a God in dragonball so he can recreate the moon. He is suppose to have the same abilities as the dragon.

goku's tail didn't really grow..it was pulled by the old kai..

it grew a little bit but thats it.. if the old kai didn't pull it out then i don't think it will grow on its own since the sayians suppose to have his/her tail full grown at birth.

Goku's tail shouldn't have grown back at all. Kami removed it so it would never come back and according to sources Toriyama said that if a saiyan is to strong the tail won't come back either. Another problem is that it took over a year for even a nub to form but before both Goku and Gohan it took about 8 months for it to grew before. Proving once again Toei directors have no clue what they are doing.

Ahhh forgot that bit, and you beat me to the fact that The dragon only has the abilities of the creator.

I agree with that all, training is what stopped the Saiyains being affected by the tail grabbing. The tail was useless so there is not need for it to grow back.

yes i fully understand that but goku's tail only grew a little bit and thats because he turned back into a kid..it was not fully grown..

besides alot of things happened when goku turned back into a kid for example he couldn't perform the instant translocation in his kid form..

so when goku turned back into a kid there was a few a side effects i guess..
