When do you think they took place?

Number One: Here's my theory, It must have took place before the Saiyan saga, but in the movie gohan knew krillin, and piccolo fought side by side with goku, now in the series Gohan met krillin for the first time, and before the fight with raditz piccolo said this was his first battle alongside Goku, and the movie couldn't have took place after because goku was dead

any wierd thoughts about the movies post um here

Well the Broly Legendary Super Saiyan kinda did because it took place during the 10 day wait before the cell games.

Most of the movies roughly fit in somewhere, but don't really count, doesn't really matter though because they're filler, and still entertaining

Correct.
Some of the movies can barely fit in with only minor question.

But most of them are just there for a good time, and you could spend your whole life trying to put them in and it would never happen.

None of the movies can fit perfectly.
Movie 1. Kuririn knows who Gohan is and has to take place a whole year before Raditz arrives but Gohan is still 4 in the movie.

Movie 5. Gohan didn't have a hair cut and also has a tail. Goku should have mastered super saiyan but didn't. Vegeta is on earth but didn't show up.

Movie 8.No one is in fear of dieing from Cell. Goku and Gohan are not super saiyan the whole time and Gohan should be stronger.

Movie 9.There is a continuity error because Trunks should have short hair. Trunks should look the same as when he killed Cell in his timeline.

Movie 12.Vegeta was with Ema and Goku was watching the fight against Super Buu.

Movie 13.Trunks never uses the sword again and was ment to show how future Trunks got his sword.
