I do not remembered Pan... But Gohan for example, he completely stopped training after Cell destruction! That's why Vegeta became stronger than him. I think that Trunks really never imagine than could appear in his world someone stronger than the androids and Cell!

But ok, if we acept that he trained hard during that years, is that enough to stop, alone, Babidi, Dabura, Yacon, Pui Pui...?

Yes if he achieved the level of super saiyan 2 then it's enough to stop them alone.
