Im thinking of buying some dragonball DVDs but im wondering whats the difference in versions.Do the uncut japanese versions have more violence is that all or do they have bad language in them aswell.Im always wondering because i was told that the English versions had two Differnt Dubbed versions(one censored and one not).

The only edited DVDs that exist are edited, English-dub-only versions of all movies and TV specials; these are in ADDITION to normal, uncut versions, though (and aren't that prevalent.. and they clearly indicate on the front cover which version they are, anyway). Anything that's released on DVD for the TV series is "uncut" and contains both the original Japanese audio track and FUNimation's "uncut" English dub.
Of course, there are a couple exceptions (the original FUNimation/Pioneer run of DBZ TV seasons 1 & 2 which is currently being replaced by the proper "Ultimate Uncut Edition", and the first 13 TV episodes + 1 movie of DB, still under sub-contract by KidMark)... but other than that, yeah. It's not necessarily "more violence" and "cursing"... it's... uhh... it's got the original Japanese version, completely untouched. That's really all that matters. |

yeah the dvd's are great, but what has me confused is how they are going to fix the episode numbers since they numbered them only up to 276 because pioneer screwed up and butchered the first 2 seasons, how are they going to fix that so it goes to episode 291? thats waht ive been wondering.

because pioneer screwed up and butchered the first 2 seasons, No, FUNimation heavily edited the episodes, mostly as-per Saban's request (Saban being their syndication distributer). Why fans to this day don't understand that Pioneer was simply the home video distributer for the two seasons... I don't get it Initially, fans speculated that FUNimation would use a 1, 1b, 2, 2b, etc. numbering system for the re-dub episodes. Interestingly, though, they're using just a standard 1, 2, 3, etc... which is fine and dandy, because it's completely accurate to the original Japanese version; it just completely screws up their own dub-version consistency |

I don't even remember seeing that scene on the dubbed series, although I might've not seen the ep with it. Eh.. as far as I know the only thing their really replacing is the TV series 1 and 2 seasons with the Ultimate Uncut Special Edition dvds, other than that I don't think they'll go beyond that, but then I never rule stuff like that out.

There's no reason to go "beyond" the first two seasons for the "Ultimate Uncut Edition" line... the rest of the DVDs already contain the "uncut" version, including the original Japanese track. That's part of the whole point of this "Ultimate Uncut Edition" line; they're proper releases of the show with the Japanese audio track and accurate translation, in addition to FUNimation's own consistency via a re-dub. |

I'm just curious, but isn't the guy who did the voice for Super Buu Gotenks do the same voice for Raditz, or did they have two different voice actors who have similar voices? |

Well, if Justin Cook played FUNimation's "Super" Buu... then yes, they're both played by Justin Cook. |

The only reason there's an "ultimate uncut" version of the beginning is because it was way back when they were using a different dubbing studio and an uncut version was never produced.
The "ultimate uncut" is just signifying the redubbing which will now be done by the same studio that dubbed every other episode of the series from seasons 3+. Previous to now, an uncut version of seasons 1 and 2 were never created nor released. So only the first two seasons are being rereleased under the ultimate uncut name. |

does anyone know if they are going to come out with ultimate uncuts for all the sagas? or is it just the saiyan saga and movie 1? Their going to do Ultimate Uncut Editions for the first three movies as far as I know. At least that's what it said on the Goku vs. Vegeta Featurette, so meh, I don't know. |
