I was thinking that SSj4 is not exactly the next level of Super-saiyan.
Blah blah blah filler'd out of the way and back on case.

SSj1-3 are basically an assention on the first saiyan form, however SSj4 is an expansion on the Oozaru form.

A saiyan is (in gt logic) able to attain Golden Oozaru if he is able to tunr SSj, from this comes the control of the Gold oozaru form to give us SSj4.

So basically if a saiyan is able to go SSj only and still has a tail, then that saiyan can effectively turn SSj4 with out 2 and 3.

Furthermore the 2 and 3 forms were an addition to the original ssj, they all revolved around big hair and golden auras.
However, SSj4 is more about apelike bodies and red auras.

Well you are right and that is why it should have been called Oozarru Saiyan, instead of SSJ4, stupid Toei.

ssj4 does have golden aura..it does not have red..maybe thats when he fires kameha 10x..

ssj with tail is actually cool..i liked when kid goku transformed into ssj3 and his tail turned gold..

so ya they should of called super oozaru 1 and then maybe you can reach super oozaru 2 and finally super oozaru 3 etc..

but i guess they kept it as ssj because everybody got use to hearing the word super sayin jin so why change it..

yeh i think the aura was my own stupidity, i skipped on alot of GT cos it started to give me the shits, it probably was the 10x i was thinking about cos it was red like you said

Hmmm, I never thought of that and it seems like that it would be possible to achieve SSJ4 with only the SSJ Level. Oh well I hate Toei and I hate GT

yeh im not the biggest fan either, just pointing out sumthing i noticed and backing it up with GT logic.

Canon-wise, SSj4 doesnt even exist

it doesn't state anywhere that you need to be atleast super sayin,, i think you need to reach ssj2 in order to transform ..but i am just guessing..

hmm.. lets review episode 55 of DBGT:

bulma told vegeta that the reason you didn't transform into ssj4 because you didn't train enough..in other words you need to reach some certain level to become ssj4

just like you need to achieve a certain level to become a super sayin 1...

people say its easy to become a ssj4 but its actually the hardest level to achieve because you need to control the form of oozaru and only vegeta have this ability..goku did it with the help of pan or planet tsuful would of been gone..
and i think gohan controlled his oozaru form in the sayin saga however goku the one who helped him

yeh but gohan wasnt a golden oozaru.

i thought that it was only ssj but it may have been ssj2 needed to turn gold oozaru.

That leads to why didnt they get Gohan to turn SSj4? there could have been Gokhan defeating omega (masenko-hameha x 100?)

spank the monkey i think they didnt have gohan go ssj4 because hes not pure sayin not sure though.

If they did it is a Toei creation for Goku not to be replaced by Gohan ever again as the main character.
