When Goku transforms in to a SSJ Frieza decided to destroy the planet with the big energy ball then Frieza says the planet has 5 minutes b4 it blows. I dont understand that because it goes on for 7 episodes and all of that ccouldnt have happened in that short time. Was t another dub muck up where the jaoanese put 5 hours or is it just me thinking that all that cant happaen in 5 minutes what do u lot think post back.

you make a good point, i dont know about the anime, but in the manga its five minutes, and after that freiza goes 100%, porunga is summoned, freiza finishes the fight with goku, and theres quite a bit of dialog with porunga as well.

It might've seemed pretty long, but the planet did explode in five minutes like Freeza said. During the fight, Freeza even gave a little timer and said stuff like, "Well, the planet's got two or three minutes left" and "The planet will explode in less than two minutes."

It's because of filler. It's easily five minutes in the manga. It's a short fight, it just looks dragged out because of Kaiô and Kami's talking.

Also, you need to remember that Goku and Frieza are moving at crazy speeds and so all the fighting they did would have been accelerated. It just seemed to take forever because in order for us to view it they would have to slow it down. That seems logical...

I'll say Roo has the best answer here out of everyone. I even have something else to add. While going back and forth from Kami and Kai talking to Earth to Planet Namek it all seems to be just 5 mins. I mean you wouldn't want Kame/Kai talking along with the people from Namek who were on Earth, and also adding Goku and Freiza in there. You'd never understand anything. It'd be like. I think, Nightmare to, Kakkorot.... and yeah you get the gist.

Exactly, that fight seemed to last in hours to me, but in DB it went beeing only 5 minutes, for the fact that they, yeah, had to slow down in order for us to view... Don't think it's like time on Namek is different than time on Earth... |

I agree with Roo. If Goku and Freiza fought in real life, they would appear invisible to the average human eye and so if we think of it in terms of slow-motion when the fighters exchange blows, then the fight would be five-minutes long including the dialogue between them. And also, we see a lot of scene switching from the fighting on Namek to the talking between Kami and Kai. The scene switch is basically a rewind and takes us to the two guardians.

It's not Roo's answer.
Chibi and Nyqua hit it dead on. The Manga made it seem like five minutes - but Toei added so much extra fighting and talking (with Kaio, the Dead warriors, etc...) that it was stretched into a good hour if you look at everything in perspective. Toei kept the direct line of "five minutes" Freeza said but they didn't bother to make it line up because they are filler addicted cash whores.

Wow Roo, you have the same idea I had.
It is all based on the mechanics of quantum physiology. Remember how flies are and that they can live about like a month or so, well their lifespan to them is equal to about half of our own. Which means like one second to us is like 6 minutes to them. If Goku and Frieza were fighting at that speed, they could be fighting for hours in what appeared to be 5 minutes to us. |
