Well there are lots of reasons that the 5 minutes seemed to have lasted so long. One reason is becuase they had to cut back and forth to different characters and they can't show everything at one time. another thing is that they are moving so fast whey they are fighting that you actually wouldn't even beable to see them fighting, so when you ARE seeing them fight its actually in slow motion.

thats why the 5 min took so long.

Behold as the Manga is overlooked, time and time again.

Toei added footage and fight scenes up the ass so much that it stretched time but they didn't change the line of Freeza saying "5 Minutes" because they are stupid. In the Manga it was 5 minutes, it made sense, and that's the conclusion. For the love of god, stop making up other conclusions. It's just because of Toei's Filler Whore addiction.

I got a good explanation for this. Dragonball Z as a anime is filled with pointless crap. I remeber when the cell games first came out here in Canada, we'd get new episodes a weekday. Regardless of that the series is still painfully slow if it's the first time u watched it. How many times have you thought to yourself "Stoping standing there and screaming, DO SOMETHING ALLREADY" only to have someone stand there doing nothing for another two minutes until the announcer cuts in telling u to watch the next episode. I remeber 4 episodes went by since the "tournament started" and Cell had just finished beating up hercule and his lackies. The anime is constantly dragged out to give A.T. time to complete writing the next installments of the manga. Could the 5 minutes in the anime have been done in 5 minutes to make it as accurate as the Manga? Yes. Did Toei favor the idea of making pointless episodes to prolong series life, ad more episodes for advertisor's and generally eat up time. Yes Toei as we all know iwll do anything for money. They clearly care about a 5 minute time limit as much as they do getting things right. "I see their parachutes their allright" that line was funimations fault but u get the idea.
