Kid Buu does suck. And anyone stronger then Goku-Gotenks, Gohan, the majority of Buu Forms, Vegito, Gogeta, etc.-could anihallate Kid Buu.

Kid Buu is weak, but he doesn't SUCK! Goku probably knew that Dende and Hercule would of been a better pick in the end. I think Goku wasn't thinking of power at that time, I think he knew that he had to beat Kid Buu with the Spirit Bomb, and need Dende for the dragonballs at the end. He knew the people of Earth wouldn't listen to Goku if he said give them his energy, cause they might think it's a villain. So Goku thought ahead of the game, and thought about tactics instead of power.

Dende in Hercule were THE worst choice they could have made! Goku would NEVER think ahead of time, he's not smart enough for that. Goku's plan was to beat Buu as FPSSJ3 but only during the fight did he learn that was impossible while alive, only then did he resort to a Spirit bomb which was a spur of the moment idea by Vegeta. Hercules help was also a suprise. I'm quite sure that either Goku, Vegeta or KabitoKai should have been able to grab the four or at least a few of them before Earth exploded. it would only have taken a few seconds and the Earth took about 3-4 seconds to explode once hit so that should have been enough time to get outta there. Gotenks or Gohan could have ANNIHILATED Buu effortlessly and Piccolo could have at least formulated a plan. Dende only use was the Dragonballs but they used the Namek ones anyway and Hercule.. Utterly pointless.

I know nobody wants to think Goku would be capable of such a thing, but I think it all boiled down to one word.....panic! Hercule and Dende were closer and that's who Goku grabbed. I don't think he had any plan other than to just get the hell out of there.

Also, if SSJ3 Goku was capable of beating Kid Buu, why didn't he? I know he commented to Vegeta that he probably could have while he was fresh but he held off because he wanted to give Vegeta a crack at it. How smart is that? It's the same thing with Vegetto not beating Super Buu. He had the physical ability, but not the smarts..he was too cocky. Unless you want to believe like what Old Kai said that Vegetto got himself absorbed by Buu on purpose. I don't see the purpose to that because I think they already planned on using the Dragonballs to revive everybody anyway which also would have revived Piccolo, Goten, Gohan and Trunks.

Goku wanted to grab Picolo, Goten and Trunks and Gohan , Then he saw Hercule, Dende andd Bee.

At Ssj3 Goku was even with Kid Buu. At FpSsj3 he would easily kill Kid Buu.

And, Vegetto did get absorbed on purpose. Again, they didn't know that they were going to use the dragonballs.

Darth Maul, using the Spirit Bomb was a terrible idea, and Goku didn't know that he was going to need it. So, Goku wanted only to escape, not get people for the Spirit Bomb.

Stated that Vegetto intentionally got absorbed by Super Buu 3. When Vegetto gave Buu the 10 second countdown, he was hoping that Buu would somehow absorb him so that he can rescue the others.

As far as Goku's Genki Dama goes, Goku didn't plan to make a Genki Dama when he escaped Earth. Vegeta was the one who formulated that horrible plan. Goku suggested that they bring Gotenks and Gohan to Kaioushin Kai, which was the smarter thing to do.
