illogics of Trunks & Cell

i found 2 illogical things that happened in DBZ.

1. when Trunks first fights perfect Cell in that island and he leveled up so big that it slowed down his movements, and then he gave up fighting later, why didn't he just try to fight in the saiyan level before that big one?

2. when Cell is first killed when he self destructs as his middle form, why did he come back as his full perfect form?

It would be useless if he were to use USSJ, Perfect Cell was holding back alot of his power during their fight and take the fight with USSJ Vegeta vs. Perfect Cell for example, USS Vegeta was no match for Perfect Cell who was holding back and was knocked out with a couple blows.

And to the Cell coming back...

He had some cells on the ground, maybe Gohan had pummeled him so hard that some of the cells were flown to the ground, before he self-destructed.
Cell was able to recover even from one cell.

That's why he came back.

Cell's falling off Cell? ummm

After Cell came back he explained how he was able to regenerate to his perfect form again without needing #18, it was because all the cell's from Cell had all the data of his perfect form from before, and since that one little cell that was left had data on his perfect form, he was able to come back as Super Perfect Cell with a huge zenkai.

If I remember rightly it was basically what Ussj Goku said

His cells remember his previous form so when that one cell regenerated itself it was his perfect form, he didnt need Android 18 and Android 17 anymore.

He thought he ascended higher than Vegeta's USSJ however, Vegeta knew the downside of USSJ2

1. Bejita knew that Ussj2 would be useless because of the major muscle increse, that's why he only used Assj (Acended Super Saiyajin, or Ussj in your case), and Cell in Perfect Form toyed with Bejita and still kicked his ass.

2. Cell self-destructed himself, but his nucleus survived (the thing that's in his head, his android brain). He recieved a huge zenkai due to him being part saiyan. In the manga he even states that he was even beyond completion without Android #18.

Because left one cell behind and that cell contained data of the perfect form. And Uss Trunks was doing nothing. USS2 was a new form Trunks thought would be enough except he didn't know the downside.
