It's too bad Goku had NO IDEA Gotenks would or could reach ssj3, or even that they would train in the RoSaT. Goku was saying that ssj Gotenks would be stronger then himself.

Goku is very confident that the boys Fusion would be enough to beat Fat Buu and even stated that Gotenks would be stronger than himself and this is before the training in the RoSaT and before Goku had any idea that they would be able to learn and master SS3 in such a short time.

you guys are way off...

if ssj3 goku was so weak then how did goku handle him self very well against buu/gotenks..

when both goku and gotenks buu are fighting it was pretty even fight.. and goku got off the fight without a scratch..

and goku never says to boo or the elder kai or to kebeto kai that gotenks is stronger than him.. he never states that and i watch the buu saga more than any other dbz saga..

Then you need to re-watch it. Goku states that the newly fused Gotenks will become stronger than himself.

Ok.. i don't want to go off topic here but when gotenks buu fought goku ssj3.. at the end of the fight i didn't see goku on the ground beaten up..

1) That entire scene was filler, and NEVER HAPPENED.

2) Regardless, Boo was just dinkin' around with Goku, he took no level of seriousness in it, and did hurt him.

What kind of question is that? Gotenks is a fused Super Saiyajin whereas Goku is just a lone Super Saiyajin 3. Last I checked, fused characters >>> lone/single characters. That, and Gotenks is a Half-Saiyajin, who are capable of having powers that far surpass Full-Saiyajins (stated).
