The Saga of Goku Question

Hello,

I was at a con on the weekend and I picked up The Saga of Goku DVD (the Dub one) since that is all I can seemingly get for the forseeable future. Anyway, it looks really crappy lined up next to my other DragonBall DVD's since it doesn't match the scheme of the other 10.

My question is, does anyone have a copy of the cover for Volume 1 that Funimation released in Australia so I can print it off and replace the cover with so it matches? Also, if you could direct me to a template for the disc labels as well because it would be nice if they matched too (but I am not as picky about these)

Any help would be appreciated and I hope I was clear in my question. I also hope I put this in the right forum.

First off thanks for the help and the warm welcome.

Secondly, I found a front and back cover so far, but no spine as of yet. If anyone out there has a scan, or can scan it, I would be most appreciative.

Yeh i have the Australian v of Saga of Goku (yes thats right me = Australian)
not sure what was on the comver however cos i got it like 5 mths ago sorry. but myn does fit into the other 10's story line.
mebe you got the movie that was made about the blood rubys?

I figured I'd give some hlep here, mbright220. No it's not the cover you are looking for but some info you might like to know. Funimations will be coming out with the Emperor Pilaf Saga for DragonBall which is the Uncut versions of the Saga of Goku. When it will be released is undetermined but they will be making it.

Yeah I can't wait until that comes out. It should be really good and when I get that I will have complete my DragonBall DVD Collection.

Probably why Australia got it before others is you probably have a different company that made it then Funi. Seeing how yours wasn't renamed The Emperor Pilaf Saga like ours in the United States are supposed to be.

No, that's a FUNimation release.

The reason it hasn't been re-released in North America with the re-dub and Japanese script is because a second-party has the domestic distribution rights to it. KidMark/TriMark (whatever the Hell they're called) originally distributed those episodes on home video back in the mid-1990's. Amazingly enough, they still own the sub-license on the distribution of those episodes.

(As a contrast, Pioneer/Geneon held the sub-license on the home distribution to DBZ TV seasons 1 & 2 and DBZ movies 1-3, but that sub-license expired a while back... which is why FUNimation's now putting out those so-called "Ultimate Uncut" editions with the re-dub and Japanese audio track)

But yeah. The Australian release is the actual FUNimation re-dub with the original Japanese version, as well. It's PAL, region 4, and distributed by Madman Entertainment... but it's FUNimation's.

*Slaps* How could I forget so soon. Pioneer still has the license to the Saga of Goku. I can't wait until the liscense is up that way we can get what we truly want.

Pioneer has nothing to do with the original DB. All they did was distribute on home video / DVD the first two seasons of DBZ (and the first three movies). The first 13 episodes & 1st movie of DB were distributed exclusively by KidMark / TriMark / whatever their name is.

Yeah I know that I just don't like saying KidMark I'd prefer saying Pioneer when I talk about them. I should be more clear when I talk about these things though so others don't think I'm a duffus.
