Hey ya'll!
I just have a question for you all about Movie 5 Cooler's Revenge and Movie 9 Bojack Unbound. In Cooler's Revenge, Goku went SSJ for the first time (in a movie). In Bojack Unbound, Gohan went SSJ2 for the first time (again, in a movie). But my question is this, apparently in Cooler's Revenge, why does it seem that Goku has to get angry again just to go Super Saiyan. It is stated in the movie that he already defeated Frieza so shouldn't he be able to go Super Saiyan at will? It's pretty much the same thing in movie 9. Gohan has to get angry just to go Super Saiyan 2 and defeat Bojack. Can anyone answer or is it a plot hole? Thanks all! |

well they should have been able to transform easier than the first time but maybe becouse he did not have time to practice it. like when goku transformed ss3 he did not have time to practice it alot it took him like 5 minutes to transform and he probaply practiced like 4 or 5 time. imagine 1 thats my opinion

It is not a plothole. Goku didn't have to get angry to turn SSJ again. It's probably that Goku was cocky and didn't go SSJ until nessessary. SSJ2 is a whole different thing, so get that off of your mind and focus on Goku and Cooler's Revenge. Now, I don't recall anyone saying that he can go SSJ at will after the first time. The first time he went SSJ was anger and power. A lot of anger. Now, he'd still have to get used to becoming SSJ (As it would be for SSJ3). You can say this is part theory, part fact. Hope I helped!

When Trunks first arrives, Goku explains to him that the first couple of times he transformed into a Super Saiya-jin, it took a little more effort. It wasn't the "POOF!" that we see later on in the series.
If you place movie five where it would take place, and ignore Trunks' arrival (and possibly even the trip to Yardrat)... Goku really wouldn't have turned SSJ all that many times. He's still working on it. He can't just transform at the drop of a hat. It took him a little bit of physical and emotional turmoil to get to the angered state that brings forth the transformation. DBZ movie 9 seems to take place a little time after the Cell Game, which means Gohan has had some time to work on the transformation (into SSJ2) a bit. While we later find out (during the Buu saga) that Gohan hasn't really kept up on his training over the seven years, as it's a movie we can take some liberties with the story and assume that he's gotten in a bit of training, even with all that studying |
