Goku vs Vegeta What if...
Scenario:
What if Buu never existed and Goku and Vegeta get to face in the tournament who would be a winner  Obviously powering up of Goku is higher, but, Gohan asking everybody not to transform into a SSJ, will Vegeta have more chances to be equal to Goku in normal form? What is your opinion?

DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 has this as an unlockable scenario. Or something very similar.
And I think Vegeta could reach SSJ2 at that time. It's pretty much implied. They'd probably fight in base anyways. Most people do in tournaments.

Not that I wanna start a debate but Vegeta would never sell his soul just for a small power increase. I believe Vegeta couldn't reach SS2 at the time so he sold his soul to Babidi so he could be able to reach SS2. It makes more sense.

No. SS2 is way, way stronger than USSJ.
Ultra Super Saiyan is just a stronger grade than normal Super Saiyan while Super Saiyan 2 is a whole new and different level. Btw don't double post but use the edit button.

On-Topic: Pretty sure Goku would win. If he'd actually trained enough to reach a form Vegeta hadn't, it stands to reason that his base power would be higher han Vegeta's.
Of course, odds are they would both decide to have a fight somewhere else, since they can't actually... fight half-decently in a ring... >_>;;

If anything SSj3 would just be the equivalent of Goku bragging, I highly doubted he'd use it in this sort of match.
Seeing as how Goku has mastered SSj1, and achieved SSj2 and SSj3, he'd have a great deal of power over Vegeta. Remember, Vegeta allowed Babidi to take over his mind to surpass his current level, and achieve SSj2. Without Buu, and potentially no Babidi, Goku would ultimately end up on top of this battle.
