That's simply not likely true. Ya see, lot's of people would indeed enjoy another DB series, although it's very possible that whoever's making it will also be making mistakes on it for lack of proper referance. If this is the case, it will no doubt be a failure. But, if the creators actually take their God-given time and their God-given brains and use those tools wisely, then they will form an undeniably wicked series.
[especially with new, present day, top notch animation]Anyhow, it looks as if the DB/Z/GT series' won't continue... |

That would be sweet if Akira decided to come back and write some more DragonBall, but he's gone on record of saying he's completely done with it and won't produce anymore.
I could see it now though, GT being renamed "The Nightmare after Z".

I don't think there should be. Mainly because I would probaby want to try to watch it but at the moment I do not have time to watch tv a lot. Unless it's done by Toriyama it will be probably pretty second rate anyway so I think they should just leave it there.

It's funny, DBZ is over for like 10 years now, and it's still one of the most talked manga these days.
To answer the question, I don't think it would be a good idea. I mean, GT almost completely screwed up what DB/Z had took years to build. It's a chance that most fans choose to ignore it, I think by now, Dragon Ball needs to rest and enjoy his glory, just a personal thought. I wouldn't mind if Akira is planiing another Dragon Ball like series though.

Another anime only series? Hell no.
Another manga continuation by Toriyama? Perhaps. If he could continue it in a original way with a more connected plot then sure, although it will never happen.

No, I don't think Dragonball should come back, and I think Toriyama feels the same way I do. DB/Z was LYNCHED by GT. If a new Dragonball came out. More transformations would have to occur in order to keep the interest of the meat headed fans, thus dragging it out a lot more than necessary; pushing it EVEN FARTHER than where he didn't want it to go. Period.

Yes, I agree With all of you GT may have had some cool characters but it still wasn't that good. Now Dragon ball Z was the best and will remain the best. personally I loved the freza saga. (I think I should try out the manga myself.)

I've actually grown very fond of DragonBall. I think my main reason is due to the fact I've kind of wore myself out on DragonBall Z. I still haven't watched all of the Buu series. Once the Cell Games had concluded, I pretty much lost interest in DragonBall Z because it seemed like everything we were getting in the Buu Saga had already been done before in one way or another. Nothing new was really added.
I read my post and see I didn't really specify if I'm for another DragonBall series. To put it bluntly, no, not if Akira doesn't have anything to do with it.

It's funny that you mentioned that Superior. I've never watched the whole Buu saga either because I felt the same way you did, once the Cell games were over I was already burned out of DBZ. Hmm, now I wonder if I should retract my statement of AT continuing the DBZ story-line? *scratches head* Then again, alot of time has passed so maybe I wouldn't be so burned out? I dunno. I kinda rambled there for a sec.

I agree, the Buu saga just seemed like they repeated everything. Buu basically has every ablility Cell has. Regeneration, absorbiton(sp?), etc. All the fusions were great, but none of them even ended up killing Buu. Once again, the Spirit Bomb kills someone(for the billionth time >_>) But to answer the question, I do think they should do another DB Manga/Anime. As long as AT is on board, I'd happily watch/read it. I think they should either scrap the Buu saga and GT and start after the Cell saga or scrap GT.
