According to my recent re-evaluation of Soul Society arc events, Yamamoto was stronger than Soul Society arc Aizen, who bathed Bankai Ichigo in his own blood with a single finger in his unreleased state (an exhausted Ichigo, but still, come on), so yeah... it's really just an overkill in my opinion. Even if I go back to my previous viewpoint and accept Aizen as Yamamoto's superior, I stll think Yamamoto could make sport of Bankai Ichigo.
