I read on another forum that it was only three parts, but he had proven to be miscreditted, and this chapter is proof of that miscredit. Honestly, a volume or two of flashbacks isn't bad, but srsly, I want to see Ichigo fight Ulquiorra. At first we're all going to love this, but then it's going to start feeling like the filler arc of Naruto. ya'mean?

What if for the next 107 weeks we get flashbacks and then after that will be the battle and that battle will turn out to be the final battle and then the end of Bleach?

Alright, miracolously I found it. When Rukia explained to Ichigo why the Quincy were annihilated, she explains the balance between the two worlds (human and soul society):
"The souls released by the soul society are accounted for by the [Shinigami] when they're born into earthly creatures."
Then blah blah blah, they are returned to the soul society....blach blach blach thus the balance.

Kenpachi is just a title, given to the "strongest swordsman" of every generation of shinigami, who kills the most, and it is a tradition within the gotei 13 that this person be assigned captain of the eleventh division, being a combat unit. Kenpachi took that name for himself, and the name of the 80th (and most violent) district of Rukongai, Zaraki, which he came from, as a surname. Before that, he had no identity.

When Urahara was talking about all those dangerous guys in the prison I thought they were like actually strong, but they didn't seem that impressive after Mayuri was shown to be like uber dangerous, when he probaly was just at low captain level then maybe even below.
