It's definitely the Nirvana album, in my opinion. Kubo is apparently a huge fan of American music. I've seen this idea reinforced in a Shonen Jump article.

I think characters thinking Ichigo had bleached hair might have come about because of the name, not the other way around.

Oh, you edited you post with another comment! So, are you one of those "I'll hate it because it's popular" people? Because that's always a shitty reason for hating something. If you had listed legitimate reasons as to why "Gayvana" made bad music, I could understand that. But just saying "DUR HUR POPULAR OVERRATED GAYVANA!" won't make people accept your opinion.

I personally like Nirvana. I'm probably not even part of what their target audience was, but I still think their music is pretty good.

He may have, but I could have missed them. I'd have to comb through the manga again, and my lyrical knowledge only goes so far. Most of what I listen to has no words.
