Goku vs Naruto - Page 4

I say Goku is the better character. Unlike Naruto, Goku isn't natural-born loser or a complete dumbass. I can understand why Goku isn't that smart since he was raise in the woods and took care of himself for over 3 years after his grandpa died. But Naruto is a different story. Naruto is dumbass yet he was raise in a village and went to school.

I'm sure there's something that can be tied. Not that it matters. Just because Goku's the first doesn't make him exempt from being part of the cliche. Also, just how smart they are doesn't really represent how good of a character they were made into. Naruto has a lot of development and exploration. Goku really doesn't change that much from day one, or have anything deep to him. While the former can be dismissed if the latter is explored well enough, it doesn't happen in this case because the significant exploration doesn't really take place. Dragonball just wasn't that kind of Manga.

I actually liked Goku's persona in the Cell- and Buu arc. He could get serious (before he appeared quite care-free) from time to time.
